One of the beautiful blessings I have in life is to be able to trial our a variety of beauty products. Skincare has become such a love of mine and I feel truly honoured to be able to trial products out for the sheer purpose of telling you all my thoughts.
It’s very rare that I share individual skincare product reviews here on The Black and White Guide and I promise you – that’s going to change. And it has changed, because today’s post is all about the beauty oil that has revolutionised my skincare routine over the last few weeks.
Youth to the People is a skincare brand sold exclusively at Sephora in Australia. As such I will admit to not knowing a large amount about the brand, being that we don’t have a Tasmanian store. What I do know about the brand is that it combines superfood ingredients, adaptogens (plants/herbs that help to restore balance to the body – in this case the skin) and science with the aim to keep skin being youthful, vibrant and full of life – pretty simple, yet also very complicated !
I’ve been lucky enough to try another two products from the brand and I have to say their Age Prevention Eye Cream is another solid favourite daily skincare item of mine… but enough about that !
The Superberry Hydrate and Glow Oil has the key ingredients of Maqui and Açai berries (two incredibly delicious superfoods that are absolutely all the rage in Western breakfast culture right now!) as well as Prickly Pear and Goji Berry extracts. YTP describe it as being a ‘potent antioxidant elixir’ that is intensely hydrating and locks in moisture with the help of omega fatty acids and high levels of Vitamin C.
It’s also Vegan; cold-pressed; free from animal testing and parabens AND the packaging is recyclable. Plus it’s got a cute minimalistic packaging that really heroes the oil.
The oil itself is a dream. It is lightweight but rich – but not too rich that it’ll break out those with sensitive skin. It’s an oil that will sink into your skin relatively quickly and not leave an oily film on your face when you wake up the next morning – I’m yet to try using it of a morning but I’m confident in saying it’d absorb well under makeup. It smells beautiful and a little really goes a long way.
And the glow. It really does add a glow to the skin! Of course any oil does when you apply it to the face – but this glow stays long after the product absorbs. I’ve been using this oil for almost a month now (I took this photo when I first received it in the mail, it has a lot more product missing now!) and I’ve noticed that my skin does look healthier. Before this I’d usually dust a light layer of powder over my face and a spot of concealer before heading out on no makeup days – but with this I rock my bare skin with confidence. I’ve had some hormonal breakouts recently (due to medical things, not because of skincare) so that’s absolutely saying something !
There are so many rave reviews online from the US but I haven’t seen any that are Australian – so I thought it about fair to start off my little mini skincare review series with this facial oil that’s absolutely stolen my heart!
While the Youth to the People Superberry Hydrate and Glow Oil with Maqui + Açai, Prickly Pear and Goji may have one of the most complicated names of any skincare product I own, it is one of the least complicated products and one so very dearly treasured in my nightly routine. In case you can’t tell from my glowing review (almost as glowing as my skin) I highly highly HIGHLY recommend adding this to your routine! It suits my combination/sometimes oily/often dehydrated/random dry patches skin absolutely perfectly and I know it’d suit basically every skin type imaginable.
The ingredients in this sound lovely. I’ve never tried this.
They are so lovely for the skin I highly recommend !
I love the superfoods ingredients in it! The glow effect sounds lovely!
I’m loving superfoods in my skincare right now – it’s becoming such a trend!
Oh my, this sounds beautiful!! I have a couple of Youth to the People products that I have been using, but I don’t have this one. I might have to grab it though!

Yes Amy! It is beautiful for the skin.
This oil sounds lovely! I love a good, lightweight oil, especially given that the weather is warming up now!
It truly is lovely! I have barely gone a night without using it since I first applied. It’s such a good option year round.
