Winky Lux Double Matte Whip Liquid Lipstick | Swatch and Review

Winky Lux is a beautiful brand that I don’t have a whole lot of experience with. The products are exceptionally beautiful in the packaging, and the brand has a variety of products – but are most well known for their lip range, with their signature Flower Balms as well as their Lipstick Bullets and their Liquid Lipsticks.

I was recently lucky enough to receive four of their Double Matte Whip Liquid Lipstick shades from Mecca Maxima, their Australian stockist.
We HAVE to talk packaging – how darn cute is it?! The clear tubes clearly show the colours, with the ice cream pattern making it stand out but also allows the colour to come through without being too obscured by branding, which is where some liquid lipstick companies go wrong – I personally love being able to see shades through packaging, so this is a winner for me! The pink lids are incredibly cute, and the beautiful flowery boxes just top off the overall effect.

I mean seriously – could this be any cuter?

I received four shades of their lipsticks – Angel Food, Lolli, Shortcake and Woopie Pie – all names after sweet desserts, another win for me.

Swatched bottom – top: Angel Food, Lolli, Shortcake, Woopie Pie.

There are no surprises that my favourite shade is Angel Food, the Nude shade. I’ve so far worn all but Woopie Pie, which is VERY far out of my comfort zone but I can’t wait to find an occasion to wear it for!

They aren’t my favourite formula of liquid lipstick, but they aren’t my least favourite. They don’t completely dry down and aren’t kiss/coffee cup proof but they do last really well with only a gentle fade throughout the day. I also find that they accentuate the lines in my lips more than most liquid lipsticks – that being said I’ve never found a formula that doesn’t accentuate them in the slightest. They’re really comfortable to wear, slightly sticky if anything, but a formula that you know you are going to be able to trust throughout the day with only the most minimal of touch ups if you’re eating or drinking a significant amount !

Overall I don’t mind these! They aren’t my favourite but I also don’t hate them – I know that I’ve got drier and linier (soo not a word, but you know what I mean!) lips than most so my review may be different! Didn’t cause any dryness or tightness in the lips the next day – it’s a win for me!
