Another year, another haul post! As per usual – I’m not doing this post to be braggy, you guys just love my haul posts + I love sharing them and seeing what others get this time of year !
Starting off with the pressies that are a little too difficult to photograph! I was very excited to receive a slow cooker and am very very keen to start cooking with it – I’ve never had one before and it sounds ideal for a lazy gal such as myself! For my birthday my Dad got me some gardening gear which I’m actually super excited about – we spent a solid part of Christmas Day’s afternoon trimming my garden with kitchen scissors and I had a blast, so I’m excited to be able to do way more! I’ve never been a girl for gardening but it’s ridiculous paying someone – plus I enjoyed it ridiculous amounts and it’s incredible therapeutic!
I’ve also been lucky to receive a few ‘experiences’ as such – my partner took me to the movies on my actual birthday (we saw Wonder and I cried like a baby) as well as to Gold Class a few days after to see Pitch Perfect 3, both as gifts which I’m so grateful for! I also got to book in to get laser hair removal for my underarms as part of my overall presents so I’m super excited to get that done and I’m sure I’ll share my experience with you all! Also received and quite difficult to photograph were a couple of board games which I am super excited to play – I love a good board game night !
First are two things I received from my friend Patricia, aka one of the world’s best humans. She knows I love my Vegemite (she lives two plane rides away and one of our ‘jokes’ when we aren’t feeling great is to come over for Vegemite toast – ultimate comfort food!) and she got me a personalised jar of Vegemite – how perfect is this? Christmas Eve I was online and found this flannelette set from Peter Alexander and sent her the link (so I could convince my partner to get them) – and she went and ordered them for my birthday! She is the sweetest. She also sent some delicious lollies and some toys for Gyps – 10/10 friend!
Some other comfy home-based items I got include the ‘I Love Sleep’ hot water bottle cover (so perfect for winter) and some cute ‘I am Going to Get Shit Done… Later’ socks that are both so perfect for me. I got a cute little cat sushi pyjama jumper from H&M from ‘Gypsy’ and from my mother-in-law we received the Sphero Mini, which is an app-controlled robot ball – and as you can imagine I’ve been having a BLAST watching Gypsy freak out over it ! (Gypsy is my cat if you’re new around here!)
I got a few cookbooks this gift season – the ones I received include healthier recipes which I am so excited to start experimenting with! I then received a Lindt Chocolate Muffin mix…… which my partner and I are very excited for me to make! I received this Hufflepuff mug from my friend and neighbour after he returned from a trip to Europe – I was absolutely touched that he thought to get it for me as I’m a big Harry Potter fan – and was sorted into Hufflepuff via Pottermore a few years back. I received a few other mugs as well – I decided when I moved out of home that I didn’t want any of my mugs matching and I love my little collection!
Now of course I got cat related paraphernalia – it wouldn’t be a Christmas or birthday for me without it! From my beautiful friend Tash I received (amongst other things) a 2018 calendar from Typo (Gyps wasn’t impressed) and a cute cat/unicorn key ring- which I will be attaching one of my keys to and leaving permanently in my car because I always lose my PO box key! I also received some super cute pens and notebooks which I will be 100% able to use up this year !
As per usual – I received waaayy too many sweet treats! Most of which have since disappeared over the last few weeks since Christmas – it’s the one time of year I allow myself to truly indulge anymore – but I can’t wait until they’re all gone because they’re too tempting !
I also received some beauty gifts (naturally) that I mostly chose myself. The Glamglow kit I’m excited for because I don’t have a full sized Supermud currently and the additional little masks make it even better value for money. I also received a large bottle of my favourite Mario Badescu Spray, as well as a travel sized Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist which I am beyond excited to try! Makeup wise I received one of the Huda Beauty Lip Tins, the Tarte Tartelette Toasted Eyeshadow Palette, a new Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer and the Urban Decay All-Nighter Concealer. For these I did an order through ShopandBox with a budget set by my partner! A surprise gift was the Body Shop Vanilla Chai Body Butter – I used the last of mine Christmas Eve so was super excited to open a fresh one on Christmas Day!
When we were in Sydney before Bali back in November I got myself the Louis Vuitton Key Pouch in Monogram to use as a wallet for my smaller handbags – my little Gucci cardholder is too big and this one is the perfect size for a handful of cards and some cash and is easy to just attach to my keys when needed. I got it as a joint Christmas/birthday gift to myself and am so happy to finally start using it! I also received some money and gift cards from various people – most of the cash is in my bank account so I couldn’t exactly take a photo! I also received vouchers to Village Cinemas (which I am so excited for!) as well as Rebel Sport (helloooo cheaper gym gear!) Peter Alexander (more pyjamas!) and Coles Myer. So far with my birthday money I purchased a couple of Vanilla Chai Body Butter backups in the Boxing Day sales and one of the Beautylish Lucky Bag’s – so I’ll share that when it arrives !
And that’s pretty much everything I received for Christmas and my birthday – which falls five days after Christmas on the 30th. I’m so excited by everything and love the mix of practical items I received – you know you’re an adult when you’re excited by not only makeup and pyjamas but a slow cooker and gardening tools! I’d love to know what you guys got for Christmas as well – I need to build my Wishlist back up!
