Two CoverFX Foundation Reviews for Pale Skin

Recently, I was pretty damn spoilt by the beautiful Kate from CoverFX with a beautiful parcel of makeup to test out! I was lucky enough to receive two of their foundation products in the palest shades to test out – lord knows I love me a pale foundation!

I received the Natural Finish Oil Free Foundation in G10 (the palest yellow-toned shade) and the Custom Cover Drops in G20 (the palest shade in this range).

Firstly – swatches! The lightest is the Natural Finish and the darker is the Custom Cover Drops. The third from bottom is Revlon Colorstay 150 and top shade is Stila Stay All Day in Bare for comparisons!

Natural Finish Oil Free Foundation – first of all – this shade is absolutely perfect! I’m fairly certain that this is the best matching shade that I currently own – and possibly the best I’ve ever owned! An absolute dream for pale skin – I wear roughly NC15 in Mac/ 150 in Colorstay to give you an idea. It has buildable coverage – starts of fairly light and I’ve worked it up to a fuller coverage where it still looks like skin, not a mask on your face. It lasts really nicely on the skin – starts to get oily on my nose after about 7 hours which is really great for me! The shade is beautiful, the formula is beautiful – I really love this foundation!

Custom Cover Drops – it’s no surprise from the swatch above that this is definitely too dark for me by itself, which isn’t really a bad thing! The product can be used alone, but is meant to be added into other products to create a custom product and coverage. How I’ve really loved using this is with foundations that are too light for me or the wrong tone – one drop will slightly darken the foundation but neutralise one that’s too pink and the second usually gets it perfect! Not to mention that these drops are CRAZY pigmented and bump up the coverage of whatever product you mix it into. I’ve been using it mostly with the Maybelline Matte + Poreless foundation which is the right tone and too light – now it works perfectly! I’ve also mixed it with the Lightening Drops from The Body Shop which worked nicely, as well as moisturiser which gave a hydrating light coverage – I can’t wait to play with these more!

Two totally different products – and two winners for completely different reasons! The Natural Finish foundation is the perfect everyday foundation and the Custom Cover Drops are (unsurprisingly) an amazing multi-purpose customising product which I’m loving playing with! These are two I definitely recommend testing out – they come in a wide variety of shades and tones which will work for basically anyone!
