Overnight oats has quickly become my favourite make-at-home breakfast option. Easy, nutritious and delicious – this recipe is perfectly filling and a sweet start to the day!
Choc-Banana Overnight Oats (serves 2)
1 Ripe Banana
1 1/3 Cups of Rolled Oats
1/3 Cup Cacao Powder
2 Teaspoons Chia Seeds
1 Cup Almond Milk
2 Mason Jars/small containers to serve
Possible Alterations: You can add/subtract the cacao powder depending on your level of chocolatey preference. You’re also able to swap out for a different type of milk – I personally prefer the almond milk.
Add almond milk, banana and cacao powder into a blender cup and combine until smooth.
Add 2/3 cup of oats and 1 teaspoon of chia seeds into each container and mix together.
Once oats and chia seeds are combined add even amount of liquid into each container and mix into the oat/chia seed mixture so that it’s evenly divided.
Set into fridge for at least 5 hours.
Once that’s all done – it’s time to eat! I would recommend topping it with a fruit of your choice and something with texture. My favourite combination is chopped strawberries and coconut but other recommendations are raspberries, blueberries, chopped nuts and cacao nibs.
This is truly one of my favourite breakfasts – I’ve been eating this for the majority of the last four weeks and I haven’t been sick of it once! I hope you guys love it as much as I do!
