If there’s one skincare item I own more of than anything else, it would 100% be face masks. I absolutely love a good face mask – whether my skin be particularly oily or dry, dull or pimply or I simply want to have a pamper moment after a busy day, I’ve got a ridiculously large selection that perfectly suit any skin situation I could have. And to prove it – I’m sharing with you today the best face masks you could use for any skin situation!
Super clogged pores/ acne: my go-to face mask for any pimples that pop up is the GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment which works amazingly well to suck out any oil in the affected area and significantly help any pimples. For anything more than a slight spot treatment, the TruSelf Organics Detoxifying Mask* is my recommendation as it does a similar job but is a lot less drying on the skin overall- with any pimples or more serious acne the last thing you want to do is excessively dry out the skin as it causes more oils to be produced – effectively making the problem worse.
Oily skin: for incredibly oily skin the Formula 10.0.6 No Time to Shine Oil-Absorbing Mud Mask absolutely does the trick. The one risk with this mask is it is quite intense, so for those with sensitive skin or are like myself with only oil issues in smaller areas of the face, the L’Oreal Pure Clay Eucalyptus Face Mask is a lot more gentle on the skin whilst having the same effect.
Tightening/Firming: for tightening/shrinking pore size the Benefit Porefessional Instant Wipeout Masks are exceptional at helping to instantly tighten the pores and visibly reduce their size. For overall tightening/firming of the skin the GlamGlow GravityMud is your go-to – not only does the mask apply silver and peel off making it instantly more fun, it helps to tighten and firm the skin leaving it looking and feeling healthier overall.
Exfoliating: the Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask is not only appropriate for Halloween coming up but is also a really quick and easy way to remove the top layer of the skin. It is something you have to be careful with, as with any enzyme mask – if you leave it on more than the recommended time it WILL hurt your skin. For something a little more carefree the GlamGlow Tinglefoliate Treatment gives your skin a tingle on first application, and when removing the skin works deep into the pores to remove any dry patches or dullness on the skin, leaving it smooth and hydrated.
Hydration: the Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask is both soothing and hydrating to the skin, making it the perfect mask to use during the warmer months or when the skin is feeling particularly irritated. The Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Hydrating Mask applies like a thick moisturiser and works it’s hydrating magic overnight – this one is incredibly satisfying to use during winter.
Did you honestly think I’d forgotten sheet masks?
Brightening: whether you’re wanting your skin to look extra bright or you simply want to look like a cat (I of all people won’t judge) the Face inc by Nails Inc Cat Nap Brightening Sheet Mask is an absolute winner for leaving your skin visibly brighter for days to come.
Moisturising: no surprises that my winner is the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Sheet Mask for the intense hit of hydration it gives the skin- use before bed and massage in the remaining essence into the skin – you’ll be in shock with how soft and supple your skin is the next morning !
Balancing: the Vitamasques Manuka Honey Mask is one of those all in one masks that works well to target a number of skin issues in one swoop – Manuka Honey has antibacterial properties which help to assist with any breakouts, whilst it is also incredible hydrating and helps to brighten the skin – this or the Antipodes Manuka Honey Mask are amazing all in one products!
I think I’ve covered just about any skin situation you’d ever want to use a mask to! From affordable to super pricey, there’s a mask out there to suit every person !
