A few months ago now my partner was in Sydney for work and I gave him a wishlist of items for him to pick one or two – he ended up buying me most of them which I was extremely grateful for ! One of those items was the Tartelette in Bloom eyeshadow palette by Tarte and I can’t believe I haven’t used it yet! It looks absolutely beautiful and made it into so many people’s ‘2017 Favourites’ and I knew it was finally time to test this out!
The eyeshadow palette contains 12 eyeshadows in a mixture of matte, satin and shimmer shades. The packaging also has quite a large mirror – the combination of the shades and this mirror makes it absolutely perfect to take for travel!
The packaging on top is just absolutely gorgeous – it definitely gives a floral feel without being ‘grandma’ like and I think that’s both really hard to do and a really clever design!
The one thing I don’t like the packaging is the mirroring around the eyeshadows – it is so hard to photograph! This is a close up of the shades in the palette – a beautiful mix of neutrals and some gentle pops of colour. A lot of reviews describe this as the perfect everyday or Work palette – and I’m inclined to agree with the shade range!
Here are the shades swatched – a lot of the matte shades do swatch a little chalky but they are quite pigmented – I barely touched my finger into the pan with this palette and was so impressed! Especially with the pale shades – for them to even show up on my skin is a small miracle!
I think the Tartelette in Bloom is a really decent little palette. The shades build and blend beautifully on the eyelid and are a dream to work with – and they have a delicious subtle vanilla scent which is worth a mention! The shimmers aren’t as intense on the eyelid immediately as I’d like them to be – a quick spritz of setting spray onto the brush has them built up in no time! They last quite well on the eyelid throughout the day – I do notice it tends to fade ever so slightly beginning at the 7 hour mark – but by 10 hours the colour was still there, just not quite as strong.
I do recommend this palette – it’d be beautiful to give/receive as a gift and has a beautiful mix of neutral shades. For me personally it’s not a fantastic match because I do have a stupid amount of eyeshadow palettes and a lot have similar shades – but if my collection was suddenly to disappear (which I hope it never does!!) this would 100% be one of the first palettes I’d purchase. It’s perfect for everyday, office appropriate and would create some beautiful looks more nighttime appropriate as well!
