You’ve been seeing a consistent ‘drugstore’ affordable makeup theme on the blog recently because I’ve discovered some pretty cool products. Something else that’s fairly new to the market is the new cheek product range from Rimmel London – with highlight, blush and bronze in powder and liquid form I thought it was perfect timing to share the range and my thoughts !
The new product additions to their range include three new palettes from their collaboration with Kate Moss. The initial palette in that range contained a blush, bronzer and highlighter shade and these palettes add to that – one full blush palette, one full highlight palette and one full bronze palette, each with three shades in the same formation as the initial palettes. We’ve also got three Insta Strobing liquid highlighters in Gold Glow, Pink Glow & Bronze Glow.
The Rimmel Kate Highlighting palette is my equal favourite from the new cheek range. It has a pale pink highlight, a lighter gold and a darker gold shade making this definitely a palette that can be used with a variety of skin tones. For me I can only get away with the two lighter shades and absolutely love wearing them mixed. These powders go onto the skin and blend seamlessly and for me the highlight is still strong at the end of the day. It doesn’t emphasise any texture on the skin but also doesn’t blur it. This is a beautiful product !
The Rimmel Kate Blush palette contains three beautiful blush shades. Again it has two lighter shades that are good for fair-light skintones as well as a darker blush. My favourite from this palette is definitely the lighter matte shade – it is the right amount of pigment to work with on the cheeks without going too overboard. Again I am impressed with the formula and how well these blushes last on my skin. I have only been able to use the lighter two shades but they are absolutely beautiful.
The Rimmel Kate Bronzing palette I’ve only been able to use as eyeshadows because the shades are too dark for me to work with. I wish they weren’t because I am sure I’d love them as much as I do the blush and highlight palettes but it just isn’t pale girl friendly !
Absolutely no surprises here that my favourite from the Insta Strobe Highlighting Liquid Highlighters is Gold Glow – I mean look at it, it’s me in a highlighter! I have used this alone, mixed in with Moisturiser, mixed with foundation as well as on top of foundation and under powder highlight and found it is really beautiful and easy to work with. My favourite way to wear this is mixing in with a hydrating primer all over the face and topping with powder on minimal makeup days because of the beautiful healthy glow it gives the skin.
Whilst this range isn’t particularly pale girl friendly, I do think it is a beautiful release! Rimmel are a brand that are going from strength to strength in my eyes with their latest releases and I can’t wait to see what comes next!
In the mean time, head over to my Instagram and see the relevant photo on my feed to this post for a giveaway for the chance to win your own set of the Rimmel Kate palettes!

Definitely – suitable really for most skin tones!
As a fellow pale girl, I feel your pain haha. I tend to not be attracted to these multiple shade palettes as a result, but like you I do often double task them and end up using them as eyeshadows when they don’t work for me. Lovely post with handy swatches!
Thanks Steph! It can be so so hard with multi shade palettes especially when you fall in love with a single shade !
I love the original palette and have been thinking about picking these up but it doesn’t look like I would get a lot of wear out of them being so pale. great post!
Thanks lovely ! I think the highlight and blush palettes you could, but definitely not the bronze !
I have the palettes and am absolutely loving them. The top shade in the blush palette is so pretty – it’s like a millennial pink that really goes with what clothes I’ve been wearing lately haha!

Ever since your millennial pink post I’ve been living for blush trends !
I’ve been wanting to try the original palettes but I might have to pick up the highlighter one! It looks beautiful!
They are all absolutely gorgeous ! You will love it.
