I’ve been seeing the Ride or Die tag floating around ever since Jaclyn Hill posted a video a little while ago, and I thought it’d be fun to share with you guys my Ride or Die products from each category! I was tagged by my beautiful friend Liv so be sure to check out her website!
Primer and Corrector. These two categories I don’t have Ride or Die products for. I’m consistently trying out new primers and correctors in the hopes of finding the perfect products to suit my skin. So instead, I thought I’d share with you the primers I’ve repurchased – the Too Faced Hangover Rx, Benefit Porefessional* and Smashbox Hydrating Under Eye Primer; as well as the correctors I’m currently enjoying, the Urban Decay Naked Skin Peach Corrector and L.A.Girl Pro Conceal Green.
Foundation, Concealer, Powder and Setting Spray. No surprises here, my trusty Revlon Colorstay Normal/Dry 150 Buff Chamois wins this category – I’ve been using and loving it consistently for the last six years since I first started wearing makeup. The Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer is my favourite for under the eyes for the coverage and longevity – I don’t have a favourite spot concealer, I just tend to grab whatever’s on special at Priceline because I am lucky enough to rarely need it. For powder, it’s the Mac Mineralise Skin Finish Natural in Light because I love how soft and finely milled it is, and the light coverage it gives. I don’t have a favourite under eye setting powder, I’m still trying to find the perfect one! For setting spray, the Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray wins for me, whilst it doesn’t perfectly control my oily nose all day, I really notice the difference when I don’t use it!
Contour, Blush, Bronzer and Highlighter. The Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette is a winner for me – it has the perfect light, cool-toned contour shade I need for my complexion, along with other powders that work for setting under the eyes, bronzing and more! For blush, it’s the Mary Kay Blush in Shy, a gorgeous blush shade that is so complimentary to my skintone (and very similar to Nars Orgasm!). For bronzer it’s Nars Laguna Bronzer, the only bronzer I’ve ever hit pan on and had to repurchase, I find that it suits me perfectly! For highlighter, Becca Cosmetics Moonstone is my absolute favourite, the gorgeous pale golden highlight is the perfect shade for my complexion and I love the way it looks on my skin – I’m so close to hitting pan on it!
Eye Primer & Brows. I don’t have Ride or Die products for these categories either, so I thought I’d share what I’m currently using and loving. For eye primer, I’ve been using the Mac Soft Ochre Paint Pot consistently for over a year now and it’s still going strong – it’s really great for cancelling out the veins on my eyelids, but I still want to try others for helping longevity of the eyeshadow I wear. For brows, I’m loving both the Benefit Cosmetics Goof Proof Brow Pencil (I was sent shade 3, which didn’t quite match, but I loved the product so much I purchased shade 2, my correct shade) and the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer in Taupe which is very new to my collection, but has quickly worked its way into my favourites because of how easy it is to use!
Eyeshadow. There were two clear Ride or Die products for this category – my Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette and Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. As you can tell, my Chocolate Palette has taken a pretty big hit to my favourite shades! The Naked 3 palette holds a special place in my heart because of how it made its way into my collection, and I love the soft neutral-pinky tones for everyday wear! If I’m doing my daily makeup, or in a makeup rut, I pull out one of these two because I can’t go wrong!
Mascara & Lips. This was a big one, but for mascara I have a combination that gives me the lashes I love every time. Daily I use the Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer which helps to condition my lashes and extend the wear of mascara. For mascara, I am obsessed with both Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash and Too Faced Better than Sex – they both do the best job at adding volume, length, colour and lasting curl to my eyelashes – I couldn’t choose between the two! For bottom lashes, the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara is absolutely heaven, the wand size is perfect and the mascara itself doesn’t smudge onto the skin underneath. I then use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Lash Genius Waterproof Topcoat on top for any days where I know I need waterproof mascara, because it just change the formula, just gives it a waterproof seal. For lips, I was going to do a product from every category but my 110% Ride or Die forever is my Mac Cosmetics Blankety Lipstick. It’s my everyday perfect nude, the only lipstick I’ve ever been close to completely finishing, I am obsessed with this lipstick and it’s always in my handbag in case I need it!
I own a bit too much makeup for any one person, but these are my absolute Ride or Die makeup products that I cannot live without, and will definitely repurchase when I run out!
