Products I’m Currently Testing | November Updates + December Details

It’s almost the end of another month and another round of product testing. I’ve found some absolute favourites and a major fail of a product this month and I’m so excited to share my reviews with you all!

L’Oreal Infallible Eye Paint in Nudist* – I’m fairly certain this was gifted to me because I wouldn’t have picked the shade out myself. That being said I am SO glad I gave this a try despite wanting to pass to a friend. The formula of this liquid eyeshadow is honestly incredible! It is so smooth, so pigmented and so easy to blend. It may be a non-descript brown in swatches but it is beautiful on the lids. I would love to pick up more of these in the future.

Maybelline Master Prime Hydrating Primer – I was expecting this to be a cooling gel/runny liquid feel because of the other hydrating primers in my collection so was initially put off by the thick texture of this primer. My overall impression is that it’s nice and does add hydration to my skin but I don’t think it’s remarkable and has any real effect on my skin other than that.

Swatches bottom – top: L’Oreal, NYX, Australis, Bourjois.

Bourjois Le Petit Strober* – I honestly don’t understand this highlighter. It has a heavily fragrances floral scent (which isn’t my cup of tea just FYI) and has absolutely zero pigment. I have used this with setting sprays, fingers, different brushes… I’ve scraped layers of the product off and used sticky tape to try and lift it and I can barely even get a scrap of pigment onto my cheeks. Wouldn’t recommend !

Australis Grl Boss Demi Matte Liquid Lipstick in Empower* – went into this month expecting to hate this but I’m at the end of it and this has been my absolute favourite product. The formula of this lipstick doesn’t feel drying at all on the lips. It sinks into the lines of my lips but doesn’t look too harsh – a quick press together of the lips refreshes it. The formula doesn’t fully set but even when it transfers there’s still a lot of pigment on the lips. I don’t know how Australis have done it but this formula is absolutely amazing!! This shade is more of a brown than I’d normally go for but I am just obsessed with the formula and the shade is basically all I’ve been wearing. I understand the hype and highly HIGHLY recommend.

NYX Lid Lingerie in 01 Sweet Cloud* – another product I have loved this past month. A very similar formula to the L’Oreal Eye Paint in the fact that it is pigmented, builds up and blends seamlessly and lasts absolutely all day without creasing. Another real winner from the group.

Napoleon Perdis Give it a Curl Mascara* – I really like how this mascara applies and looks on my lashes. It gives a natural curled look to the lashes while adding a little bit of volume and length. My issue with this product is that it is incredibly difficult to remove. I have used multiple different products and without fail will wake up the next morning with mascara smudged under my eyes. I can use multiple products and have nothing come off with a cotton round yet will still have that under my eyes. Not sure how that’s even possible but it is soo frustrating to me because I absolutely hate having any makeup on when I’m sleeping !

Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation in Porcelain – a really good shade match for me… and that’s where the positives with this foundation end. I seriously do not understand why this foundation receives so many rave reviews on the internet because it did not work for me in any way, shape or form. It wouldn’t stick to my face, I struggled to build it up, it made my skin look SO dry and so cake-y yet slid off my nose within an hour. I tried so many primer combinations, skincare combinations and no primer altogether underneath and I ended up removing the foundation every single time and using something else. I really don’t recommend this ! I have combination skin but this was just a hot mess that I’ve never experienced with a foundation before.

Foundation comparison swatches – bottom to top: Wet n Wild Porcelain, Makeup Revolution F2, Revlon Colorstay 150 Buff, Mac Studio Fix N4.

And that’s November’s products ! A couple of fails and a few real winners! December is a very busy month for me (and most of the planet) but I’ll still be keeping on with this series so here’s what you have to look forward to reviews of !

In the second swatch, I think the best foundation from what I can see is the Mac Studio Fix N4, because it has a clean look. I think that the Wet N Wild foundation seems runny; I have no idea either why there were so many rave reviews online on that product. In the first swatch, I would use the NYX, because of its clean (not runny) look and that it seems to highlight the skin tone well.

Yes I have no idea why there are so many rave reviews either ! Other people have different opinions I guess.

I’m not that big of a fan of the Wet n’ Wild foundation as well. It oxides really fast on my skin and the smell wasn’t the greatest.
