Products I’m Currently Testing | June Updates + July Details

It’s the end of another month, which is not only just the craziest thing but it also means that it’s almost tax time (hooray for expecting a return this year!) but most importantly it’s time to share with you my thoughts on the products I have been testing over the last few weeks – and show an insight into what I’ll be testing during July!

Becca Bronzer in Bali Sands – despite the fact that it made me miss Bali every time I saw the packaging, I absolutely love this bronzer ! It is a beautiful shade for paler skin tones and absolutely wonderful for me. I’ve wanted it for the longest time and am so happy that the formula and shade didn’t disappoint! This one I definitely recommend.

Raww Organics Lip Gloss in Tan Lines* – whilst I’m not the biggest lip gloss fan in the world I really enjoyed this formula ! It wasn’t too sticky or drying and I didn’t find myself getting hair stuck on my lips all day! A really beautiful formula I recommend trying out – plus it is organic and full of goodness!

stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow in Gypsy – loved it immediately for the name but absolutely adore the shade and the formula. These liquid shadows mean that I’m able to easily wear glitter on an everyday basis, and this light purple got me so many compliments! Plus I can be ‘that cat lady’ who’s eyeshadow shade is the same name as her cat – what more is there to say?

Mecca Max Banana Bake Loose Powder* – now I did try this for baking but just wasn’t a fan. That’s not to say this is a bad product – but I can’t get baking to work for me, no matter how hard I try. When baking this did actually darken my underyes fairly significantly too – so if you’re pale I’d recommend using this as I did throughout the last few weeks. I used a very light amount on my setting brush and used it to set the concealer as I do with my usual translucent powder. It worked really easily and nicely and I didn’t see it interfering with any concealer underneath. If you’re as fair as me I’d honestly probably skip it – but I can make it work ! That being said the powder is soft and very finely milled.

Rimmel London Brow this Way Pomade Pencil* – I truly don’t know how to feel about this. A pomade in a thick pencil that reminds me of a crayon. You do need to be very careful using this product directly on the brows – it is very easy to mess up, but it is relatively easy to then fix up. You could use it with an eyebrow brush but wouldn’t that defeat the purpose ? If you’ve got naturally thicker eyebrows this is great as a tinting product but if you’ve got thinner and more sparse brows definitely go for a pomade in a traditional format if that’s your preferred product !

Macadamia Oil Hair Treatment – I was honestly so sad when I finished this little sample up! I like it even more than argan oil on my hair and for me that’s saying something. This oil smelt absolutely beautiful and left my hair so unbelievably soft and just looking healthy and all-round fabulous. I’m not sure if you can get this in Australia (I haven’t had much luck finding it – this sample came in a ShopandBox order) but if I find it I’ll 110% be buying it the minute I see it ! I have two sachet samples of this that I’m holding off to travel with – I so love this!

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation – this was an epic fail of epic proportions, so epic that I’m using the word epic four times in one sentence. It didn’t feel comfortable on the skin, it sat on it and felt heavy and broke up so so quickly. I tried it with (and without) all of my usual primers and it just wouldn’t stick to my nose at all and accentuated all dryness. This is raved about by SO many people and it makes me so sad that it didn’t work for me, especially because I love so much of Clinique’s skincare range!

Swatches bottom – top – Rimmel pomade, Becca bronzer, Mecca Max Banana Bake Powder, Raww Tan Lines Gloss, stila Gypsy.

So that’s everything from June – a bit of a mixed bag but all-in-all a success I’d say! Now as always here’s a little sneak peek into the bits I’m trying out throughout the month of July!

I’ve been wanting to try that Becca bronzer. I’ve heard it is amazing from so many people and the Stila eyeshadows are incredible! I’ve got 4 shades now and I need them all. They are perfect to bump up any eye look!

I’d wanted to try it for so so long and am super happy it didn’t disappoint – beautiful for pale skin! I don’t use my Stila shadows (or any of mine for that matter) nearly as much as I should but I agree, I want them all too!

Me too! Well I mean obviously I tried it but SO many of my favourite youtubers love it so I had high hopes! I think I’ve found a new everyday foundation though so stay tuned for that!

Isn’t it the prettiest ?! I’m so so glad I picked it up. And I was shocked too – I was that confident that I’d love it I almost just went for the bottle immediately but am so glad I didn’t! It’s sad because I love so so many of their other products !

I’m really enjoying the Becca bronzers and need to use them more. And I still haven’t tried the stila Magnificent Metals, but am so keen to add them to my wishlist.

Yes they’re beautiful! So so easy to use. Definitely pick one of the shades up – the glitter isn’t too OTT and super easy to wear daily!
