Well hello there friends to the first post of 2019! It feels very foreign to be only typing this up now but I’ve had a little bit of downtime now and am feeling much better – thank you SO much for all the love I’ve received since my last post over on Instagram. I will never stop being grateful for the friends that I have made.
Today I’m coming at you with a product testing update – albeit a little delayed! I’ve got my updates for the products as well as sharing with you what I’m trialling out this month. Unfortunately due to the move I’ve misplaced a couple of products so I don’t have swatches for you as I normally would – I’m so sorry!
Physician’s Formula Butter Blush* – This is one I honestly threw out before moving! The idea of the product I really like but unfortunately the buttery formula lets it down – try as I did I couldn’t pick up any pigment and ended up just disrupting the makeup underneath.
Erre Due Lipstick* – A really beautiful satin formula I’ve really enjoyed this! A brand I only tried because I was sent the product a few months back however something I’m grateful to have received – I will definitely be trying more from the brand in the future.
Kylie Cosmetics Skin Concealer – I absolutely love this! I think the formula is beautiful – a really close to full coverage that I don’t find creases during the day for me. I picked up the shade Bone which is unfortunately slightly darker than I can really get away with but I’ve been adding a tiny bit of a lighter concealer to balance the shade and I couldn’t be happier with this!
Mac Dazzelshadow Liquid Eyeshadow* – I think these are a really beautiful product from Mac. The formula I have is their lighter glittery formula and while I can build it up I find I don’t get full opacity from the product. Nonetheless I’ve been really enjoying using these on top of my normal eyeshadow for some glittery goodness. It lasts all day without fallout or creasing too which is a win!
Revlon Sculpt + Highlight Contour Kit – I really like this little gem! I do mostly just use the contour shade in the righthand corner but I have found that the powders are lighter in pigment, making them easier to blend and easy to build up as well. I’ve been reaching for this most days when I wear makeup and I love the big mirror the packaging contains as well.
Sephora Collection Mattifying Primer – I really like this! I’ve documented my oily nose struggles many times on the blog and this is the best and cheapest primer I’ve used to help combat that. It doesn’t keep my nose matte for the entire day but I get a good 5-6 hours before I need to touchup.
So that’s what I’ve been testing over the last few weeks! Some real wins out of this bunch. Below I’ve got for you what I’ll be texting over the next little while – can’t wait to update you again!
Welcome back! You’re right about the Butter Blush. I swatched one once and there was nothing there. So disappointing.
Thanks Em! I was so super excited but was sadly disappointed.
It sounds like I need to try those mac liquid eye shadows, they sound so awesome. x

It does look beautiful hey! I was so sad about it.
Can’t wait to see your post on the next few products you’re testing! I really wanna get my hands on the maybelline Fit Me foundation, apparently it’s a real gem!
Thanks Kristen ! So far so good with it !
What a pity about the butter blush! At least all the other products worked well for you!
