It’s been just over a year since I did my first ‘Products I Regret Buying‘ post, how crazy! I have been really good recently with reading reviews and researching products online before purchasing – I used to be very quick to spend money, but am a lot more cautious now into what I spend my money on. There are still a few products that fall through the cracks that I regret purchasing, which I thought I’d share with you all today!
Colourpop Sculpting Stix in ‘Illuminati’: I love the formula of this, but it’s a couple of shades too dark for me to use to highlight my face, hence why I regret picking this shade up and wish I had have chosen something lighter – that’s the peril of ordering online! (Side note: I have Dove in their Contour shades and it is AMAZING for pale skin!)
Urban Decay Highlighter in Sin: A hard one for me to pick, as it’s something I wanted for the longest time before its release. I like the shade, but I find that it doesn’t really suit my skintone and is a little too glittery for what I can get away with! I was really disappointed with this one.
Stila Lip Primer: This was a random ‘I’m actually in store at Mecca I want everything’ purchase. I’ve used it once or twice and it’s a nice product don’t get me wrong, but it isn’t a necessary purchase – I’ve had it for the longest time and I hardly have touched it, it’s just something I forget I have and I wish I’d spent the money on a lipstick instead!
Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in ‘Little-Stitious’: Love the name, love the initial colour of the product – it is the perfect nude. Sadly though, the colour fades after an hour or so into a purply-pink bright shade. I don’t understand why it does that, and it really disappointed me because I love the initial shade and the formula, but I cannot pull off a lip colour quite that bright!
L.A Girl Pro Conceal in ‘Porcelain’: Like the product, dislike that it’s oxidised in the tube – now that I’ve done some more research I’ve noticed I’m not the only one this has happened to, and it’s really disappointing! Definitely not suited towards someone as pale as myself, and I regret spending a ridiculous amount to get it online!
Nars Eyeshadow Duo in ‘St Paul De Vence’: I firstly regret paying $70 for this on eBay – somehow I had it in my head that it was limited edition, and it definitely isn’t! I love the formula of these eyeshadows, I think they’re an absolute dream, but I just don’t reach for it because I find it easier to reach for a palette on a daily basis and I reach for those more over any smaller eyeshadows I have – I really regret spending the money on it and wish I’d invested in a larger Nars eyeshadow palette instead!
Not necessarily bad products – just ones that I wish I’d researched a little more or thought through before purchasing! I’d love to know your thoughts on these products, and also what you regret purchasing!
