Earlier this week I travelled to Sydney for a small bit of retail therapy (more on this later!) and most importantly, the Beauty Prescription Live Event with Priceline Pharmacy. It’s no secret around these parts that I love a good trip to Priceline so this was my heaven! The event was held at Randwick Racecourse and I was there from 8am until just before 1.30pm – it was a biiiiig morning!
First of all we sat in for a presentation from the Priceline team about what’s trending, new products and campaigns and everything in between! On each of our seats there was a small breakfast box (with a delicious raw slice, ham quiche and a yogurt and granola bowl) and some Kombucha – the first time I’d tried it and I completely understand the hype now!
I received my first introduction to the CEO Richard Vincent and I couldn’t imagine someone more perfect for the role! You could tell he had a genuine passion for the work that he did and the brand – I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard in a while at some of the things that came out during his time on the stage!
Next we received some details on what’s been selling the most in the first half of the year and what’s popular – I only managed to snap a few of these – firstly some of the most popular makeup items sold between January-July.
Favourite lipsticks state wide – I have to admit I was incredibly happy to see little old Tasmania included, we’re often missed off many maps and I was just a little overjoyed at the inclusion – and I need to try that lipstick!
More in the wellness category, the most popular and purchased vitamins and supplements per state in Australia – I found it absolutely hilarious that Tasmania’s was Vitamin D – and it reminded me I need a new container!!
It absolutely broke my heart to hear some of the statistics gathered through this campaign, but it also resonated with me because these were some of the answers that I personally submitted during the survey. It’s definitely incredibly sad to know how we feel as women about ourselves compared to others, and motivating to make a change somehow!
We had a wonderful chat from the gorgeous Ita Buttrose (a major career idol of mine who I was overwhelmed to even be in the same room as) as well as the lovely Poh Ling Yeow (of Masterchef fame initially) about the Beauty of You campaign and their experiences in their respective industries and their experience of beauty.
We also had a panel presentation with brand ambassadors such as Jimmy Coco from Mine Tan and Georgia Love representing Palmer’s, as well as one of the co-Founders of The Jojoba Company and learnt more about their successes and backgrounds.
After the presentations concluded, there was a mass exodus to the next room, where we were provided with ‘granny trolleys’ (more on these later!) and we entered an area where 69 of Priceline’s brands were showcasing their new and upcoming products ! I spent so long discussing new releases that I honestly forgot to photograph most of the stands which I’m now kicking myself for, but I do have some stories to share !
One of the first places I visited was the Palmer’s stand – a brand I’ve loved for many years now and use very consistently. I got to meet the gorgeous Georgia Love – who I knew from reading my local news rather than her stint as The Bachelorette! It was lovely to meet her and chat about Palmer’s, Tasmania and F45, a truly genuine and lovely person!
Another brand I’ve used consistently for years is Revlon – who are coming out with some gorgeous Metallic Matte liquid lipsticks! The shades are simple and stunning, without being too unbearable to wear on a daily basis – their gifts came in balloons which I was super sad to have to pop and not bring home!
Skinny Tan have recently re-done their packaging and have some gorgeous pastel shades – their stand was one of the most aesthetically pleasing to visit ! I’m definitely not the biggest fake tanner but i received some tips to try out – so fingers crossed I’ll be a golden bronzed goddess shortly!
One of the exciting new makeup releases is coming from Nude by Nature with packaging to die for with their new Flawless Liquid Foundation. I was colour matched to shockingly, not the lightest shade in their range – so that definitely impressed me ! I am in love with the packaging and cannot wait to test it out !
Another exciting new makeup release is coming from La-Roche Posay – yes, one of my favourite skincare brands is releasing a makeup range! They have so so so many products including base and mascara – I cannot wait to see what they’re like!
Klorane had the prettiest pink shampoo ever, which is, I was told, amazing to use as a clarifying shampoo (good when you’ve used dry shampoo a little too much which we’re all guilty of!) and in conjunction with dandruff treatments.
There were so many new Haircare products coming and I wish I’d captured them all – some exciting new ones from brands such as John Frieda, as well as a gorgeous new brand which I can’t wait to talk about called Hair Recipe.
There were so many other amazing exhibitors and products which I cannot wait to share with you all, but I’m leaving you with a Snapchat photo of the ‘granny trolley’ from the event – overflowing with products galore that caused me a slight over baggage mishap at the airport ! The trolley was well needed and I really understand why they’re so popular – I’m going to start using this baby at the supermarket !
Thank you again to Priceline for hosting such an amazing event – I’m absolutely overjoyed to have attended, and i cannot wait to share with you some of the amazing products that we received!
