I honestly feel like I just wrote my last empties post yesterday.. How crazy! This last month has been a whirlwind of finishing uni (and getting results), work, Christmas shopping… I wouldn’t have it any other way really! In last month’s empties post, I challenged myself to finish 30 items, so let’s see how we went!
Philosophy Christmas Cookie Shower Gel/Bubble Bath: This one I have had sitting out on my bath for months, and considering it’s almost Christmas again I made sure to use this up – it created gorgeously scented bubbles for my bath and was a great product!
Biology Smart Skincare Skin Smoothing Body Buff*: This is by far the gentlest body exfoliant I’ve come across – I’m honestly still not sure what to think! I tend to generally use a more abrasive scrub, so this made me feel like it wasn’t as effective as I’d usually use. Regardless though, I did enjoy using it!
Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Body Lotion: I really quite enjoyed this! It sits somewhere between a body lotion and body butter in terms of texture, absorption and moisturising-ness (for lack of a better word) and smelt totally delicious! Something I’ll definitely repurchase in the future.
Pure Hair Food Protein Masque*: This mask left my hair looking and feeling softer, silker and smoother every time I used it – a little bit of this goes a long way, hence I’ve been using it for months now! Something I’d definitely recommend.
L’Oreal Color Corrector Blondes: This product was okay, but in terms of removing brassiness I definitely prefer my Fudge shampoo!
Joico Moisture CoWash*: Another product I’m just not sure what to think about it – it’s such a foreign concept for me to use a two-in-one product on my hair, and I feel as if it may have left my hair slightly greasy towards the roots, where I don’t need as much conditioning due to that part of my hair being healthy? I did give this to my partner to use towards the halfway mark of the bottle and he loved it!
Marc Anthony Coconut Oil & Shea Butter Conditioning Treatment: I picked this up recently as a product to trial before my upcoming cruise – I thought that if this worked amazingly, it’ll be a really space effective hair treatment to take with me! I did enjoy using this, however it wasn’t quite at the level of deep coniditoning I need on a regular basis with my damaged hair – definitely a product I’ll pick up when I’ve finally grown out all the damage!
Tresemme Keratin Smooth Flat Iron Heat Protectant: I’ve used other heat protectant sprays before, but this is the only one I’ve repurchased consistently – I really notice a different in how my hair holds it’s straightness after using my hair straightener – my hair is quite naturally wavy and also very damaged, and for my hair to still be 90% straight on day two is a miracle, and I owe it to this!
Klorane Dry Shampoo with Nettle (Oil Control): My hair is very dry and damaged towards the ends, but can get very oily at the roots – unfortunately for me I just didn’t like this product, I felt like it didn’t do anything for the oiliness at all. I’m sticking to the ‘normal’ Klorane shampoo which I absolutely adore!
Nars Liquid Laguna Bronzer Sample: I honestly just didn’t love this! I’m not a liquid/cream product person so their normal powder bronzer is still the product for me!
Make Up For Ever Step 1 Nourishing Primer: I was disappointed by this overall, I really enjoyed it to begin with but in the end I felt like its effectiveness wore off. I’m back to my Too Faced Hangover RX Primer and love it!
Smashbox Hydrating Under Eye Primer: Love love love this! Helps to keep my undereye area moisturised and my makeup lasting all day – I’ve since repurchased.
Benefit Brow Vo! Conditioning Brow Primer*: Something I’ve used every day since purchasing both as a brow serum at night and a brow primer during the day, I really did enjoy this! I’ve noticed the sparseness at the front of my brows has become a lot thicker than it once was, which used to be a real sore point for me! Definitely something I recommend.
Australis Stick Concealer: A good concealer, I used it for pimples when needed but it was left in the sun for too long and has gone a little funky!
Kmart Makeup Remover Pads: My forever love! Already repurchased, naturally.
Mac Volcanic Ash Exfoliator: A random, yet well loved Christmas present from my mother last year – it was completely out of the blue for her to purchase me an item from Mac, but I really did enjoy using this! It had a great texture and I felt it was really effective for my skin, but also not too abrasive. Thanks mum! Something I’ll definitely consider repurchasing.
La-Roche Posay Effaclar Duo +: A skincare product I love, something I’ve even got my fiance into using! Really effective at helping to clear scarring and a nice moisturising product, I use it before/in place of a serum and love it!
Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes: Another favourite that I’ll definitely repurchase.
QV Oil Free Moisturiser: This was recommended to me by a girl at Priceline. I really did like it, however no matter how long I let it absorb into my skin it didn’t work well under makeup – I passed it onto my partner and he loved it!
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Sheet Mask: A product I absolutely love, I’ve used up two this month! Seriously one of my favourite masks of all time.
Lush Cupcake Fresh Face Mask: Another face mask I love, it feels so moisturising on the skin – shame it’s so messy to use!
True Water Deep Cotton Mask*: I received this in my Nudie Glow subscription post and really enjoyed it – not quite as effective as the Neutrogena masks, but still really nice!
Sephora Collection Charcoal Nose Pore Strip: Loooved this – such an effective pore strip! I wanted to pick up a bunch more when I was at Sephora recently but sadly there wasn’t any stock!
Throughout November I used up 25 products – not too bad if you ask me! I did want to reach 30, but I’m really happy to have used up the products that I have – I have a real backlog so it’s great to be able to use these up so I can try more, and eventually buy more! Let me know what you’ve used up and loved in the last month!
