Nivea Q10 Plus Anti Wrinkle Pearl Serum | Review

I was recently invited by Beauty Directory to participate in a trial of the Nivea Q10 Plus Anti Wrinkle Replenishing Pearls Serum*. This serum offers a combination of concentrated coenzyme Q10 pearls and hyaluronic acid, making it perfect for drier/ageing skin types. I don’t generally use a lot of anti-ageing products, but it’s never too early to start! The inclusion of hyaluronic acid makes it perfectly targeted to my skin type! I’m definitely big on trying to prevent ageing, and considering I have some lines under my eyes/expression lines on my forehead, prevention is a must!

I must say that I love the packaging – I appreciate any product that is going to show me just how much I have left! I love too that you can see the product in the pearls, as well as the fact that it comes with a pump. When you pump the product out, you can see the pearls mixed with the serum, creating a perfect mix of product each time. It’s a lightweight serum, feeling incredibly refreshing when applied to the face. It can take a little while to sink into the skin, so I tend to use it first thing when I wake up in the morning, letting it settle for at least 20 minutes before applying makeup, and at night time as well.

Coenzyme Q10 is a key ingredient, which is responsible for restoring the skin’s energy supply and assists with repairing damage, protecting the skin and helping to regenerate it, helping improve texture. Another key ingredient of the product is hyaluronic acid, otherwise known as a dry skinned girls dream! Hyaluronic acid is known for retaining more than its weight in moisture, and helps skin cells to regain moisture, helping to add to a glowing and plump complexion. Another key ingredient is creatine, which aids the others in repairing the skin. These ingredients as a combination are perfect for hydrating the complexion, regnerating skin cells, helping fight signs of ageing and improving the texture/health of the skin all round.

It definitely applies smoothly to the face, and doesn’t leave my skin shiny or feeling oily. I’ve only been using it for a little over a week, however I have noticed my skin feels a little bit more hydrated – my drier patches are less dry and flaky, which is fantastic! My skin is definitely feeling a lot healthier and looking a little bit more radiant each day. I haven’t been using it long enough to see any effects on my eye wrinkles or expression lines, but it’s definitely something I’ll continue to use and let you guys know if I see long term benefits. I’ve noticed that my hormonal breakouts have seemed to clear quicker than usual, and this being the only new product I’ve introduced recently I’m attributing it to that.

Overall, it’s so far, so good with this serum! Although I’m not in it’s target anti-ageing market, I’ve been really noticing the benefits of using it with my drier skin. It’s definitely something I’d recommend trying if you’ve got skin like mine, or would be perfect for a gift in a goodie basket for Mum for Mother’s Day coming up!
