I feel like so often I share with you wishlists (speaking of, one coming to you this week!), hauls or favourites posts, but I rarely share with you the beauty items I’m trying out and what I think of them, so I’ve started this little series to share a little more insight into the items I’m trying and my thoughts!
Marc Jacobs Air Flush Blush in Kink & Kisses – after eyeing this off forever, I purchased it in February and finally got to trying this very recently and I love it! It gives a beautiful healthy pinch of colour to my cheeks, the quality of the powder is excellent and the colour isn’t overbearing but also lasts all day – definitely a blush and a shade I recommend my fellow pale ladies trying out!
Jouer Long Wear Lip Creme in Melon – another product raved about in the beauty world, this pulls a more mauvey-pink on me, but I’m kind of digging it! I have only tried it once, but so far my opinion of it is good! It dries down fairly comfortably and lasts through eating and drinking (or at least coffee and sushi) and is incredibly difficult to take off – which I think is a good thing!
It Cosmetics Tightline Mascara – I had this in my drawers for well over a year unused and pulled it out recently – and it wasn’t what I expected! Whereas I normally prefer a strong volumising and lengthening mascara, the Tightline mascara really fluffs up my natural lashes – giving the effect of a light lash tint with a few added lash extensions. It is such a beautiful effect, and a true ‘no makeup makeup’ mascara – I know what my go-to for those occasions now is! It’s perfect for the bottom lashes too.
Too Faced Love Light Prismatic Highlighter in Blinded by the Light – I definitely expected more from this one! It’s gorgeous in the pan and the packaging is beautiful, however it really takes a lot of working up to show on the skin – I used two layers of the product dry and two wet and could barely see the glow when I moved my head around in the light – this is definitely something more for girls who don’t like a blinding highlight!
Too Faced Chocolate Brow-nie in Taupe – a brow product that smells like chocolate?! Helloooo heaven! It also helps that this product works really easily into the brows, with a shape both similar and quite a lot thinner than the Anastasia Brow Definer. I’ve been using this for about a week now but am really liking it so far!
Tarte Brighter Days Moisturiser – this moisturiser gives a similar effect to Mac Strobe Cream, albeit a more natural, lit from within look. The Mac Strobe Cream didn’t personally work for my skin, however I love using this. My everyday weekend makeup tends to be this moisturiser, a light infil of my brows and some light mascara, and I feel completely confident without a full face !
Rimmel Wake Me Up Anti Fatigue Foundation* – this guy is a little too dark, however one drop of The Body Shop’s Lightening Drops and we’ve got a great match. I find this foundation smells a little funky which can linger for an hour or two, so anyone who’s sensitive to scented products do keep this in mind! It’s got a really nice medium buildable coverage and lasts really well throughout the day – I don’t notice it really breaking up or sinking in to any dry patches. My nose of course gets oily – but that’s to be expected these days!
