Monday Musings | November 5, 2018

Hello friends, and happy November! It has been a surprisingly long time since I shared a Monday Musings life update with you all so I thought that there’s no better time than the present. I have a lot to catch you up on, so let’s get into it!

My health is going amazingly well! I’m basically back to normal which is a relief to say the least! I am feeling 100x better than I was when I wrote my last little update mid-August. I’m back to working out regularly, I have had more needles and an iron infusion which helped slowly but surely and let’s face it – my diet still isn’t great! But hey, nobody’s perfect and it’s a constant work in progress.

I do pilates now? If you don’t follow me on Instagram it’ll be news to you that I’ve been doing reformer pilates consistently for the last couple of months now. I’d always seen pilates as something that’s for older women – doesn’t help that my first memory of the word was my grandmother discussing how she was following pilates tapes on VHS… so that was a while ago now! A KX Pilates location opened up in Hobart late August and apart from a two week period of travel and illness I’ve been going ever since. I even participated in their KX40 challenge – which is still going and my final class will be tomorrow, well within my bounds! Reformer pilates is something I’ve found a real love for – as many of you know I have an old hip injury which flares up every now and again, and in the short amount of time I’ve been taking these classes the progress I’ve had is incredibly impressive. It’s a full-focus workout that while non-traditional and not the highest calorie burning is a full mental and physical workout and I promise will burn muscles that you didn’t even know existed! In case you can’t tell from this paragraph I am a huge convert – and this serves as my reminder to purchase my next class pack for after the challenge!

What else has been happening? Honestly, nothing super crazy. I’ve been working on my freelance business (more information here) and am taking on more client work which is the most exciting part of my recent comings and goings. I’ve also been slowly looking at applying for other jobs – I love my little business and the clients that I have worked with over the last couple of years but I really miss the regular social interaction and variety that non-freelance work provides!
I’ve been working out, seeing friends and watching a bit too much of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. I’ve been reading a lot which soothes my soul and I’ve been taking care of myself and Miss Gyps. I’ve also been a busy busy bee pre-scheduling content for the rest of the month and working on plans because I’m undertaking Blogmas again this year…

Blogmas? I swore to myself that after last year I wouldn’t do Blogmas ever again. For those who don’t know, Blogmas is the blogging equivalent to YouTuber’s Vlogmas – where they post daily vlogs once a day in the leadup to Christmas Day. Decidedly less work because I’m not detailing my entire day every day – but SO much work behind the scenes! I have recently been blessed with some amazing holiday collections in the mail and wanted to share more of them with you than just in my traditional gift guides so expect to be overwhelmed with all of the holiday beauty goodness in December – very far ahead to think about, but also not at all!

Content Roundup – Time to share everything you may have missed since my last Monday Musings catchup! I shared my top Pale Girl Beauty Products followed by my August Product Testing update. I reviewed the ABH Norvina Eyeshadow Palette (spoiler alert, I ended up selling it after the post went live) and then shared my August Favourites and August Empties. I stuck to my roots and shared an August Collective Haul as well as a Mecca Maxima Haul and followed that up with a lifestyle tip about relaxation, stress and self care. I shared my first impressions of the Mecca Max Gleam Team range as well as my first ever products from Clarins. I shared my Go-To Brow Combo (second spoiler alert, this hasn’t changed a bit!) and then my Travel Makeup Bag for my quick trip to Sydney. I then shared some content around my trip to Sydney – namely a Priceline Beauty Prescription Live event overview and my Sydney Haul.

Then we’re finally at the end of September so of course we’ve got my September Favourites and September Empties posts that went live as well as my September Product Testing overview.. I shared a review of the Kylie Cosmetics Sorta Sweet eyeshadow palette and the new Korres Pure Greek line. I then updated you all on What I’ve Been Reading and Watching as well as my second Makeup Revolution First Impressions and Review post. Next came some more individual product reviews with the Youth to the People Glow Oil and the ModelsPrefer Cream Eyeshadow Quad.  I then shared my favourite new Spring and Summer lipsticks and by then it was time to share my October Product testing update!

Finally, I’ve most recently shared reviews on some new-to-me products from Grown Alchemist  and the Urban Decay Aphrodisiac eyeshadow palette. Last week’s posts included my October Favourites and October Empties… and here we are at the end of the next post!

It’s been a long one – but thanks for sticking with me. Through this long blog post and through all of my adventures so far with this website. I love each and every one of you who’s messaged me, liked a photo or even read a post – the support means the world and is one of the main reasons why I love posting on here so regularly.

Now go ahead and get back to your Monday – you’ll have a lot more content headed your way very shortly!

I’ve always told myself never to do Blogmas because of how much work is involved and whether it’s worth it! But I always admire people who pull it off, so good luck! Excited to see what you come up with 😊

I told myself that too – but here I am two years running ! I have a pretty good handle of everything I want to write so now it’s a matter of shooting and writing. Eep! Thank you Felicia. X

You have had a busy month girl! I think I am going o do a 12 day Blogmas. I definitely couldn’t manage 24 last year haha but 12 seems doable if I include a couple of gift guides in the mix 🙈

Thanks Di! I am making time before Blogmas to get it all done – I definitely couldn’t do it day by day during December I’d go crazy!
