Happy Monday beautiful people, and happy Queen’s Birthday Public Holiday to the majority of my Australian readers! May you all take advantage of the extra rest and preparation time for the week ahead!
Thank you. Thank you for being kind, for being understanding, for the comments and the DM’s and the concern. Thank you for being okay with me cutting back on posting and thank you for just the understanding and care that I’ve received. It wasn’t an easy decision to make and it is one I am very grateful to have received support from.
My health still isn’t fantastic. It’s not great at all, really. Throwing in all the symptoms (I now at least have a specialist appointment to figure out the root cause of all of this… in September. And that’s the private health system!!) as well as a nasty head cold turned chest infection and I’ve honestly been having a pretty rotten time. I’ve also probably been to the gym once in the last few weeks which isn’t helping whatsoever because it’s a form of therapy for me ! I’ve been to the doctor lots, had lots of needles and tests and am seeing all the right people and doing all the right things to try and improve my physical and mental health. Juggling everything right now is increasingly difficult and something just has to give at some stage – I’m just not good at giving up as I’m such a determined person! We’ll see though – I want to make this all work!
Family. I took advantage of two free days last week and travelled by myself (road trip!) to visit family at the other end of the state. I drank some pretty woeful coffee and listened to a lot of Post Malone on my journey and it was exactly what I needed. I got to not only visit a friend, but spend some well-needed overdue quality time with all of my grandparents. Family is something that is important to me and is something I’ve noticed that I haven’t been keeping up with recently. This trip was exactly what I needed to slightly ease my “horrible granddaughter” guilt and to have some down time with some of my favourite people on this earth. Plus the comfort food whilst being so sick really did help me feel a little better! Spend as much time as you can with family (if you can!) because they’re the only one you have!
Travel. In some other exciting news, over the last few weeks the decision was made that I’ll be tagging along on part of my partner’s trip to visit his family in Queensland in the coming weeks! I’m making sure to give him some quality alone-time but also want to head up for a refreshing change of scenery and some fun downtime ! I’d love to know your recommendations of what to do (we’re already planning to be at a theme park one of those days and my not-so-inner child is VERY excited about it) with my limited time as I’m making it a long weekend!
PR/Sponsorship. I feel like receiving PR and paid content opportunities has changed somewhat in the last few months. In the last couple of weeks I have been extremely lucky to receive a few overly generous packages from companies and agencies as well as have the opportunity to partner with some amazing services and brands to produce content that is paid for. This definitely isn’t something that regularly occurs – I tend to turn down a lot more opportunities than I’m provided with because it won’t suit me or my audience authentically. My transparency and honesty is something I hold myself at a high standard for, and I wouldn’t ever share something I disliked and say otherwise! You guys know on here that my reviews are as balanced as they can be – and I’m not afraid to say when something isn’t right for me! The same is when I feature paid content or items I’m gifted either here on the blog or on Instagram – it’s just amazing to have that extra income to reinvest and to be paid for doing what I love ! I’ll never change with that – there’s not enough money in the world to corrupt me! (Well, there probably is – but nobody would pay me nearly that amount hehe.)
Content Roundup. It’s been a while, but there has also been fewer posts! I’m really hoping I’ll have some time/energy to bulk write a significant amount of content to bring posts back to three times a week – but that sadly won’t be any time soon. Until then – here’s what you’ve missed since the last Monday Musings post!
A post that was a joy to write from beginning to end, my review of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette and Amrezy Highlighter! Then we had a little about my current Self Care Routine that’s perfect for busy nights! An update to the Products I’ve Been Testing came out as well as a preview into what I’m trialling this current month. A couple of months ago I did some pretty decent damage on the Sephora US website, so NATURALLY I had to share my haul with you all! Then it was May Favourites time (my choices definitely weren’t a shock to anyone) and then May Empties! My most recent post was all about affordable makeup from Makeup Revolution – if you’re after some affordable beauty bits this is one not to miss!
And that’s it from me – thank you again for the amazing support ! I’ll check in with you in the next few weeks and share what’s been happening – until then, I’ve got some content planned that’s overflowing with new beauty items that I know you’ll absolutely love!
