Happy Monday, and happy first Monday Musings post of 2018! It’s been a few weeks since my last one of these as the last one fell on Christmas Day – and what a day it was! Let’s get chatting, shall we?
I graduated! It was actually such a great ceremony – the speeches were actually fairly interesting and I was sitting with some pretty cool people from my classes. Sure, the hat may have barely clung to my giant head and my name was mispronounced on stage – but it was great to properly thank the awesome teachers I had and to finally finish everything off! It’s a pretty great feeling.
Blogmas is over. Thank goodness! It was a pretty crazy 25 days worth of content – I had pre-written quite a large majority of it but it was still definitely a drain on the creativity – I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things again so I apologise if things have seemed a little off!
Christmas was a blast. I was definitely spoilt by my family and friends (more on that later this week) but most importantly I got to spend the majority of the day with my family which I’m incredibly grateful for. I spent the early part of Christmas morning lined up for coffee (with only one decent place open in Hobart it was destined that there’d be a LOT of people there) which was surprisingly enjoyable. I cooked lunch for myself and my Dad which seems to be a bit of a tradition (me cooking that is – but usually dinner!) and then we somehow got to doing a large amount of gardening that we’d planned on hiring someone to do – which was actually super fun! Then dinner was spent with my mother and her parents at their hotel – where we ran into further members of the family unexpectedly. On the 27th Dad and I travelled up to visit his mother which was a long but wonderful day. I’m sad its over for another year, but this last year I’ve learnt to value family a lot more and I’m going to make more of an effort to consistently visit people!
Happy New Year! New year, same me! Let’s face it – not a lot of people stick to New Year’s Resolutions. I’m usually one of them. So this year I’ve set a few goals – which you can read more about here. I’m trying to take life with a more positive attitude this year and think about the positives of any negative situation – and I can already feel that change in my mentality – this year will be better!
Overall, things are sailing fairly well right now – I’ve got a few interviews scheduled this coming week, and a second interview for a job I’m really hoping to get – I just know that there will be applicants more experienced than me and I need to figure out a way to prove I’m the best candidate! I’m thinking positively and going in with an open heart – send your best wishes my way! I’m feeling really good about everything at this point in time – and I hope you’re all starting 2018 well also!
