Happy Monday February 5! The year is already going a lot quicker than I’d like it to – how come that always happens?!
Still quiet on the job front. I luckily cushioned myself fairly well money wise in anticipation this would happen! I had a really serious discussion with my partner about jobs recently. There aren’t a lot in my ‘field of expertise’ from my degree in Tasmania – and the ones that exist are pretty strict on requiring years of experience. So I’m applying for other things, but only places and positions that I know I’d enjoy. I don’t want to be in a job that I really don’t like – that’s happened to me before and is a real downer overall on life – so I’m being a little bit fussy. Here’s putting it out into the universe – send me a position filled with hard work and a positive work environment!
Food and Gym. If you’ve been around these parts for a while you’d know my little routine with exercise and how it was slipping… I’m happy to say I’m completely back on track! I’ve had a little injury bugging me the last few weeks but I’ve still gone to classes and done a lighter load and gone for long walks during the day and I’m feeling so much better for it! My eating is actually surprisingly doing incredibly well too – I’ve been alternating two breakfast recipes I love, salads for lunch and Youfoodz has FINALLY started shipping to Tasmania (or at least my local service station) and I’ve been eating their meals for dinner! My biggest issue with food was repetition with meal prep and being bored/eating meals too calorie dense, so these lower calorie healthy delicious options are wonderful! Expect a full review coming up soon – I’ve been working on it for a few weeks now, it’s pretty dense!
Insomnia. I’ve been to my doctor and it’s official – and I’m definitely struggling! He believes this is just a temporary bout of insomnia – although it’s been going on for 2-3 months now. We’ve done some diet elimination (the 10 days without coffee was just CRUEL) and some other personal tests but it doesn’t seem to have an answer. I’d love to know if anyone else has/currently suffers from insomnia and any tips you might have? I’ll try just about anything right now!
Holidays. This morning on Facebook I was rudely reminded that this time last year we were on our cruise – so totally unfair! I was very lucky to have ticked three countries off of my list last year and I think this year will be a year of staying at home and saving to buy our house! I still really want to do a trip to the Gold Coast and tick off some theme parks but other than that I’m happy to stay closer to home with miss Gyps!
Speaking of staying close to home… Earlier this week we were offered a lease extension with our real estate agency and we took it! If you were around this time last year you’ll remember that we were promised an extension by our old landlords who then last minute pulled that away from us and ended up moving into the house themselves – so you can imagine our surprise when we were approached three months before the end date! Where we live now is a bit expensive for what it is – but it is incredibly convenient and we’re really happy and comfortable here. This extra 12 months gives us time to save a little more for purchasing a house (we’ve got enough for an initial deposit but we want to have more for furniture, any necessary renovations/taxes etc.) and to be able to really be confident in where we pick! I am so very happy and positive for the future and can’t wait!
That’s all for me this week! I have a week filled with a bunch of errands, gym and eating healthy – which is always great! I’ve got some fun content scheduled to come your way so I hope you enjoy!
