ModelsPrefer is Priceline Pharmacy’s ‘home brand’. I feel as if brands such as these aren’t given a lot of credit in the beauty world and are often skipped over for those that have a stronger name behind them. I wish that wasn’t the case – and that’s why I’m sharing with you today a review of their most recent product release.
Models Prefer were showcasing their Foil Finish Cream Eyeshadow Quads at the latest Priceline Beauty Prescription Live event – and today I’m sharing with you the version in Pink Lustre. They also have Gold Rush (which unsurprisingly is golden in tone!) but this one initially caught my eye both at the event and when playing with them at home.
The palette contains four cream eyeshadows described as having a foiled finish.
You’ll see from the swatches that I initially had a bit of a hit and miss experience with them. The first two shades I swatched using a brush and had to build up multiple times to reach the colour shown. The darker two shades I dipped my finger into lightly and received a stronger colour payoff immediately.
This isn’t a cream eyeshadow that you can use a brush with – I have tried a few different brushes (even my OG favourite the Models Prefer Cream Eyeshadow Brush!) and they just aren’t a good mix. This quad you definitely need to use your fingers for… and if you’re new around here I’m not normally a fan of using my fingers for eyeshadow (this review should show you why!).
It took me a couple of goes to get used to using this quad. I find it works best if I use my usual eyeshadow primer and set that down. I’ll also usually use a couple of shades in my crease and slightly above as a transition and to blend the foiled shadow up into. It can be really really messy to use – my first two times using the palette I was quite grateful that I didn’t need to leave the house after ! If you’re a beginner with this type of formula (it’s unlike any other cream shadow I’ve used) I would highly recommend doing your eye makeup before your base the first few times – learn from my mistakes.
This quad is definitely worth the work. It does build up to an incredibly beautiful and flattering foiled look on the eyes – and is a formula that doesn’t crease during the day. I’ve tested this on a hot day, through tears (not on purpose!) and during a nap and not once has it transferred or creased. There’s also no fallout during the day which is something really impressive.
I do really love this eyeshadow quad. It is unlike anything I’ve ever used before and I really enjoy that factor. While I wish I could use it with an eyeshadow brush it is more than easy enough to keep a makeup wipe on hand to avoid any accidental transferring to the face or clothing.
This quad retails for $15.99 and is available exclusively in store and online at Priceline!
Still, need to crack into these, they look so gorgeous. Definitely agree about using fingers rather than a brush with these style cream shadows, much nicer finish. Such a great price too!
Yes you so do! They’re beautiful and you’ll love them.
The shades look gorgeous in the pan, and I could imagine they would be stunning on the eyes. I agree my concerns would be trying to blend them with a matte eyeshadow in the crease.
I didn’t actually have an issue with that! It all worked pretty well together.
The shades in this quad look absolutely stunning, i need to pick this up! x

They are beautiful!
I don’t usually use cream eyeshadows but these shades are so pretty!
I’m the same! Although I’m starting to love cream products more in the warmer days currently !
