Contouring seems to be all the rage recently. I personally do a slight contour daily to give the allure of obvious cheekbones – I’m working on making my chubby cheeks a thing of the past and a subtle contour just makes me feel so much more confident! I’ve tried expensive contour kits and cheap ones, so I was fascinated when Priceline’s own brand Model’s Prefer came out with their own version!
It costs $16.99 and comes with 6 shades, as well as a full sized mirror and a book. In this way, it’s perfect for those who aren’t too comfortable with contouring – I would have loved something like this a few months ago! I like that it has a full sized mirror, it’s something I haven’t found yet in an affordable contour kit and I love it! The book, as seen in the photo, talks about the colours that are best for each skintone, type and face shape which is again, perfect for beginners!
The palette comes protected with a plastic sheet that states the highlight shades and the contour shades. For someone with pale, NC15 skin like myself, I find that only really four of the shades are usable – all of the highlight shades and the middle contour shade, however I find that I can just get away with Contour 04 as a bronzer with a very light hand and a lot of blending!
As you can hopefully tell from the swatches, these highlight shades are really quite pigmented. The lightest shade I like to use to either set a liquid highlight or as a base for a shimmery one, because I’m not a fan of matte highlights! The middle ‘banana’ shade is the perfect undereye setting shade, I find that it isn’t too dark or too yellow on my skin and just adds a nice highlight. The third highlight shade is more of a peachy highlight shade, which will look better on me in the summer for sure! These shades were a little hard to photograph because I just used one swipe of product to show true pigmentation, and I have very pale skin for the pale colours to stand out!
The contour shades are great, there really is a good variety. I can just get away with the Contour 04 as a bronzer, but it’d be a better contour shade on more medium skintones. Contour 05 is fantastic, the nicest ashy-grey contour shade without being too grey, and just gives the perfect contour for my face! And in complete honesty, I haven’t touched Contour 06 since swatching it – that colour on my skin scares me a little!
The colours are pigmented but not intensely so, and they are quite easy to blend. I tend to lightly dip my brush in and swipe off the excess on the back of my hand and then apply it to the relevant areas and I haven’t had any troubles! I prefer it over my Anastasia contour colours, which I may be shot by the beauty community for saying! In comparison to the Australis AC On Tour Contour Kit, this is much easier to work with, so much easier to blend and better for light skin tones and I’d recommend this Model’s Prefer one over the Australis one. It’s available in Priceline stores throughout Australia as of now!
Have you tried this contour kit? What were your thoughts? I’d love to know!
I really wish I hadn’t bought the Australis one now haha…! I’ve swatched this and the formula just seems a lot better! I find the Australis super powdery and hard to blend at times. I’m very tempted to pick this one up!

I feel the same way! My Priceline store didn’t have one to search so I just picked it up but this is much better, you definitely should ! x
Great post lovely lady! I am loving the fact that this palette has a mirror. I’m yet to see one that does

Thanks Bec ! I love the mirror – comes in handy for everything else ! The only one I have that has a mirror is my Kat Von D one but the mirror is fairly small, so a full size one like this is fantastic ! x
Yay!! NC15 club haha! This product looks awesome for the price

I swear we aren’t even that pale ! Sometimes products make me feel like I’m a ghost or something ! Definitely good for the price and for our skintone! xx
Hi, do you think this contour kit would be ok for a tanned girl like me? The australis one has options for dark or medium so I’m not quite sure.
It’d depend on your skin tone ! There are a few options in the palettes for contour shades. I’ve heard that this one was actually limited edition so I’m not sure if you’re able to purchase anymore !
