May has been a very interesting month for me. There has been a lot of highs and quite a few more lows. I was wearing makeup daily at the start of May but by the end I just had lost that spark again. Nonetheless there are still five beauty products from May that really stood out to me as true favourites – including two products that you’ll recognise from past favourites !
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette should come as no surprise to any of my regular readers. This beautiful palette has been my go-to since the first time I used it with its beautiful variety of shimmer and matte neutral shades. A very everyday/office appropriate pick! The Mecca Cosmetica Lit from Within Illuminating Drops were a surprise favourite – they have a darker shade when pumped out but blends out to a tint-less shine on the cheeks that is absolutely beautiful. A product that I know will work for paler skin such as myself as well as those with darker tones! The Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist featured in my May Favourites but it really cemented to be a true favourite of mine during May – I even convinced myself to spend the $70 on the full size, and $70 on a face spray isn’t an expense I take lightly ! I found that when I wore makeup all day at work my skin looked super dry and cakey towards the end of the day and one day I randomly spritzed this on my face before I left the house – and didn’t notice this as an issue! It is such a beautiful product and I am happy to have the full size – just not happy about the price tag! The Revlon Colorstay Foundation is something you’ve undoubtedly read about many, many times on this site. The last few weeks I really wanted to find a new everyday/Work foundation that’d last wonders on my skin. What I instead got were four samples of foundations that just didn’t work – and then I pulled out this from my drawer after having not used it for months and fell in love all over again! It might be ‘just Revlon’ and mightn’t be a brand with more prestige – but I’ve been using it since 2010 and it is damn good! My last favourite from the month is the Maybelline Pore Minimizing Primer. I had hoped this would be a cheaper alternative to repurchasing my beloved CoverFX Blurring Primer – and it definitely won my heart! The formula is buttery soft and melts into the skin effortlessly – it spreads like a dream and a little goes a long way! I feel like the CoverFX does a slightly better job but this one really is just as good and the price tag is much friendlier on my bank account !
And that’s it! Everything else throughout May was fairly much the same – and you all know my thoughts on the products I tested out ! I’d love to know what products you’ve been loving over the last few weeks so I can add them to my wishlist !
