Happy July ! I say it all the time but the year truly has gone fast this year – although it has had its moments! June was a very interesting month for me but it seems I’ve used up a significant amount of beauty products – so let’s dive in!
(Side note – how cuuuute is this Kmart shelf? Perfect for Insta pics headed your way soon! I’d just have made my own but we have pinker walls in this place!)
Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara* – not the best mascara I’ve ever used but certainly not the worst. Did a good job at lengthening my lashes but often clumped them up which isn’t my favourite!
Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mascara – this mascara has a LOT of mixed reviews and sadly mine is one of the negative ones – so spidery, so clumpy, so unappealing and even more difficult to remove than They’re Real! I adore They’re Real and Roller Lash so was super disappointed by this.
Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub – absolutely love this, however I never seem to get through a pot before they separate! The scent of this is beautiful, it tastes good and does an awesome job to exfoliate the lips.
Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm – my overnight lipbalm of choice, had to purchase this whilst in Bali as it’s no longer sold in stores in Australia but I’d definitely recommend grabbing it if you find it!
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask – absolutely not a fan of this, it dried my lips out to no end and months later they’re still recovering! Another product with rave reviews – I just don’t understand how/why!
Uriage Bariederm Levres – absolutely adore this lip balm and I’ve already repurchased another!
La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Levres – another French branded lip balm that I love – and another I’ve repurchased.
Givenchy Noir Interdit Mascara* – I really quite enjoyed this mascara. The wand bends which I wasn’t really a fan of, but the bristles gave a really natural and separated effect and other than the fact that it dried out fairly quickly… I have no complaints and would recommend!
Kmart Makeup Remover Pads – same review as always, two used this month!
Sensodyne Whitening Repair and Protect Toothpaste – my go-to toothpaste. I actually purchased a few of these whilst in Bali late last year as they were $3 compared to $10 – bargain!
Bioderma Cleansing Milk* – so gentle on the skin, I used this after makeup wipes/micellar water to remove the last of any makeup residue. I’m not really a milk cleanser kind of girl but if you are this is a fantastic option!
Bioderma Micelle Solution for Dehydrated/Sensitive Skin – absolutely love this micellar water, it is something I have repurchased multiple times and will continue to do so – I wish it came in a bigger bottle like the original version does!
Burt’s Bees Micellar Cleansing Towelettes* – these did a really fantastic job at getting the majority of makeup off of my face. They were a drier wipe than I was expecting but still worked well – I’m just not a fan personally of strong honey scents (I can barely use honey in my cooking!) so am passing them onto a friend for this reason – if the scent of honey doesn’t bother you then I’d recommend!
Neutrogena Deep Clean Purifying Micellar Cleansing Towelettes* – I wish I loved these like I love their other two makeup remover wipes however it just didn’t work for me. It was a really dry formula and my skin just sadly didn’t agree with it.
ASAP Soothing Gel* – this has been open way too long – used it when I spent a little too much time in the sun – which is a rarity! Worked a treat and would recommend.
The Body Shop Spiced Apple Foaming Bath – open for WAY too long, this bubble bath formula still stayed perfect! I love the scent and it created beautiful bubbles for the bath and is something I’ll repurchase in the future definitely.
Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar Bubble Bath – funny story actually… used this one as a shower gel! The packaging for these and their shower gels are completely identical and I obviously shower without my glasses so never realised what I was doing until the very end! Worked pretty well as a shower gel though, oops!
John Frieda Sheer Blonde Hi-Impact Restoring Shampoo* – I really have enjoyed the few John Frieda products I’ve trialled recently and this is no exception. A really nice cleansing shampoo for blondes that doesn’t appear to strip or change colour or remove any (much needed) moisture from the strands. I have loved this and the conditioner and recommend as a more affordable option for blonde gals!
Radox Muscle Sooth Bath Soak – I have used these up incredibly fast with my return to the gym – honestly not sure how well these work and whether it’s more a placebo effect, but I do enjoy these and will continue to repurchase.
Macadamia Professional Nourishing Macadamia Oil – I absolutely loved this oil treatment for the ends of my hair. It left it feeling ever so soft and so easy to manage. They don’t sell this under the same branding in Australia but I’m hoping to try what I believe is the same product from Priceline and am hoping for an identical product!
Body Blendz Sugar Glow Coffee Scrub* – absolutely adored this scrub! It smelt absolutely heavenly like the chocolate shop from my childhood and did a wonderful job at exfoliating my skin – definitely recommend!
Lush D’Fluff Strawberry Shaving Soap – love this product and have already repurchased! No ingrown hairs with this one!
Glow Lab Eye Serum* – I truly wanted to love this but it just wasn’t hydrating enough for me!
Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar Dry* – my second jar of this and I still absolutely love this. I used it as a nighttime moisturiser and it just does such a wonderful job of hydrating the skin.
Ultraceuticals MD Ultimate B2 Hydrating Serum* – I absolutely adored using this serum. I’ve used it twice daily (minimum) for the last three months and it’s done wonders for my skin! I’ve been told that this costs $150 to repurchase which is crazily above my budget right now but I 110% want this back in my life one day, it is a blessing to dry skin!
Clinique Freshly Pressed Daily Vitamin C Booster* – another more expensive skincare product that I have absolutely adored. I used this while pretty under the weather throughout June and it was truly amazing to see just how well this worked! Something I will definitely be purchasing in the future to use when my skin needs to kick out any dullness!
Nivea Refreshing Toner – this just didn’t work for me unfortunately! Not a bad product at all, just not suited for my skin.
Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream* – a very thick and rich moisturiser that I definitely used at night as it was too thick for under makeup. This smells beautiful and is a wonderful formula – another product I definitely recommend!
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ – are we even surprised?! Absolutely adore this product.
Biore Nose Strips – I know these are super bad for me and I promise I’m just using up the last ones I have! Cannot lie, they are immensely satisfying to see the results of. (*super bad because I have sebaceous filaments, not blackheads – just to clear up the DM’s I got!)
Mizon Watery Moisture Mask – I picked this up to bump up to free shipping on a Mecca order a while back and I’m so glad I did! I used this right before bed and woke up with the softest skin – couldn’t recommend this little mask more!
And that’s my plethora of finished products from June! Some hits, some misses and some regular favourites!
