Derma E Skincare | Impressions

Recently I was lucky enough to receive a skincare parcel from Derma-E with products perfectly tailored to my skintype. I first filled out an incredibly detailed questionnaire about my skintype and the products I was using at the time, and these products were the ones suggested for me! As always, I’ve given these items a good two and a bit months of trialling before I have written this review – it’s so important to me to thoroughly trial a product, because with skincare it takes time to see results, it’s not something you can try for a week and form a solid opinion on!

Soothing Eye Gel* – a small amount goes a long way with this product, I always tend to accidentally get too much out of the packaging! This definitely lives up to its name, the gel formula is incredibly soothing under the eyes and helps to wake me up first thing in the morning! It helps to de-puff my under eyes and prepare them for makeup. I noticed that I need to use a more traditional eye cream with this one at nighttime because undereye area did appear a little dry after two weeks straight with just this – I constantly lack hydration in my skin though, so it’s something just to make a note of!
Microdermabrasion Scrub* – I’d never used a microdermabrasion scrub before, so I was definitely taken aback when I first used it! The exfoliating particles are incredibly small and fine, and this was a dream to use on my particularly dry patches of skin. It is incredibly abrasive and did feel a bit harsh the first time I used it – I find that using it on wet skin and not using too much pressure is perfect for me. This has been great at removing the dry patches I’ve had around my eyebrows, nose and mouth and my skin always looks brighter after using it – it’s a really nice exfoliator and my favourite product from the range!
Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Cleanser* – when I initially introduced this to my skincare routine my skin did have a momentary freakout and I had a few small pimples appear around my jawline, nose and forehead, but they disappeared within a week and I haven’t had any problems since. It’s a gel-like consistency, it smells absolutely delicious and it feels incredibly soothing on the face after a long day at work, and helps to refresh me and wake me up of a morning! It feels really gentle on the skin and I haven’t noticed that it’s stripped me of any moisture. My skin always feels really clean afterwards but not tight at all, I really enjoy using it!

Firming DMAE Serum* – this serum is targeted to help treat fine lines, wrinkles, tighten and tone the skin. Whilst I don’t suffer too much from fine lines and wrinkles, there are a few lines in my forehead that I am really self concious about that are especially prominent when I smile. I have noticed a small difference in their severity since I started using this nightly – not a whole lot, but enough to notice a difference. This is something I’m excited to continue using, because I feel like longer-term I’ll see a significant difference. It is also really hydrating for nighttime!
Hydrating Serum* – this guy comes packed with hyaluronic acid,an amazing ingredient that holds up to 400x its weight in moisture. I’ve found that this is hydrating enough to use without a moisturiser in the mornings, and is really fast at absorbing into the skin making it a great product to use prior to makeup.
Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A & Green Tea Advanced Creme* – this says it’s suitable for use morning and night, however I’ve only been using it at nighttime because it takes a little longer to absorb into my skin than the serums – and I have a tendency to run late in the mornings! It is more an anti-aging product, but it isn’t too rich a formula for my young skin – it feels really hydrating but I’m not a huge fan of the scent of this one – I can’t really describe the scent but I just don’t like it!

Overall, I’ve been really impressed with my introduction to Derma-E as a skincare brand! The majority of the products have a really nice scent to them, and I love the simple white packaging with a pop of colour – gives a bit more of a sophistication to them, it’s something you’d imagine seeing in a salon, rather than your local Priceline! My favourites would have to be the Microdermabrasion Scrub as a first, and the Hydrating Serum/Soothing Eye Gel following closely behind! The brand has an amazing range of products that are suitable to almost any skintype – definitely check them out when you’re next near a Priceline store! If you plan on getting one thing – 100% get the scrub!
