Happy almost end of December ! December has been an interesting month for me personally and beauty-wise – for the first time in what feels like forever I’ve had a bit of a tan. We all know that 99.9999% of the time I’m a very pale gal so it’s been ‘fun’ trying to find products that work for me with a tan – and with a very minimal budget for trying new things I’ve been grateful to discover that a slightly heavier hand works wonders to making products work on a more light-(very light) medium skin tone!
The L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation in 21 Golden Sand* I found after cleaning out a few lost PR packages about a week after Bali – it was the closest match (yet still slightly too light) to my tan at its darkest and I rediscovered my love for this formula! It is a lot lighter of a coverage when you use it with a damp BeautyBlender and I absolutely have fallen back in love with this baby!
The Body Shop Lightening Shade Adjusting Drops I finally gave a good workout to this past month as my tan slowly started fading – these drops are absolutely packed with pigment and the littlest bit goes and extremely long way to lightening any dark foundations.
The Too Faced Peach Perfect Foundation in Vanilla is what I’ve been using now that my tan is a lot more faded. It gives a beautiful medium, buildable coverage and gently sets from a dewy finish when first applied to a slight satin matte. It helps blur the visible pores around my t-zone and is honestly an amazing match for me right now! Couldn’t be happier with this one.
The ModelsOwn Illuminating Face Primer I’ll have a full review of in the next few weeks – but I’ve been pairing it with the L’Oreal foundation to give a less-matte appearance to the skin and I absolutely love it – I’ve even worn this on no makeup days just to give my skin a healthy glow, it’s a beautiful product.
NYX No Filter Powder* is something I’ve been using with darker foundations recently, and will be a beautiful powder to use when my tan has faded back to my usual level of pale. The powder is finely milled and gives the tiniest amount of coverage but just ever so slightly helps to lighten the L’Oreal foundation when I choose to wear that.
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Sunset Pink* is a product that has had two purposes for me this past month. During the phase where my skin was a lot more tan it gave the prettiest pink highlight to the skin, and now that my tan has faded significantly I’m now using it as a blush to give my cheeks a beautiful illuminated healthy glow. I don’t find it is an overly pigmented product which I quite like as a blush, but it does blend and build incredibly easily which is perfect!
Benefit They’re Real Mascara is an old favourite I’ve been using consistently throughout the month – one quick wiggle of the brush is perfect to give a light lift to my lashes but can be built up to an incredible lengthening and volumising effect on the lashes, making it suitable for minimal or heavy makeup!
My last favourite of the month is the Samantha Ravndahl Mac Cosmetics Lipstick collaboration that I picked up in a blog sale a few months back. I used it for the first time only a week or so back for my university graduation as I had misplaced my OG Blankety lipstick. This shade is a little bit lighter than my all-time favourite but still looks absolutely beautiful on my lips and lasted for about 6 hours before I took off my makeup which is an incredible feat for my frustratingly dry lips! It’s all I’ve used since and I’ve been absolutely loving it !
so many goodies right there beautiful x
Thanks gal!
So many goodies
I like to think so!
Ummmm I just wanted to let you know I purchased the Mac x Samantha Ravndahl lipstick on your recommendation (after also buying Blankety on your recommendation and finding it not quite right but that’s a whole other story) and I LOVE it. Hands down the nicest shade I’ve ever found for my skin and after spending 6+ months trying to find my perfect wedding lip the hunt is over.. so thank you!! 💕
Oh my gosh that makes me so happy ! Blankety is perfect for me and the Samantha one is just a tad lighter but still absolutely beautiful! Makes me so so happy to know – have an amazing wedding day! xx
