Current Haircare Favourites

I’m a huge lover of trying out new haircare items – and I’m absolutely blessed to be sent some really incredible hair products a lot of the time ! I have ombré ash brown/blonde hair that’s oily at the roots and dry/damaged down the end due to life before Olaplex – so I can pretty much try anything and test whether it works! I’ve tried and tested some absolute failures over the last few months but these are some of my absolute favourite products and I can’t wait to share them with you!

Whilst coriander doesn’t deserve to exist in food form, it surprisingly smells very nice and is an excellent ingredient in haircare! The L’Oreal Botanicals Coriander Strength Cure Shampoo* & Conditioner* are two beautiful haircare products that have been assisting in the overall health of my strands recently. I don’t use them together regularly nor do I use the line exclusively but I’ve been noticing a difference since I’ve been using them and they’re definitely worth a mention in my favourites !

Whilst the Klorane Soothing & Anti-Irritating Shampoo with Peony* is undeniably cute in packaging it is also a fantastic product. My scalp can get quite irritated and itchy at times and a quick wash with this will solve it for a week or so at a time. I know that doesn’t sound like a lot, but for the irritation I was getting beforehand it’s a dream come true! The Soap and Glory Rushower Scent-Sational Dry Shampoo is a very new and affordable ($7 for this giant can!) addition to my haircare I have absolutely fallen in love with it. Like the name suggests it is scented – I cannot describe the scent but it is sugary sweet and not too overpowering. The dry shampoo does a wonderful job at soaking up the oiliness in my roots and blending everything together so I can get an extra day out of a hair wash! Lazy girl heaven.

I’ve been using the Hair Recipe Honey & Apricot Moisture Hair Food Mask* once a week recently and really enjoy what it does for my hair. I find that some moisturising hair treatments can tend to leave my hair feeling slightly heavier but this leaves my hair feeling lightweight and soft after a wash and I’m very impressed! I’ve also rediscovered my love of the L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil-in-Cream* for an after shower treatment – if my hair is feeling extra dry before a shower I massage a small (okay, medium) amount of this into my hair post-shower and it dries super soft.

I didn’t like the original Marula Oil range but I gave the Paul Mitchell Marula Oil Light Rare Oil Volumizing Conditioner* a reluctant try and it was an instant favourite. Unlike the ‘normal’ range I didn’t feel like this left my hair looking or feeling oily and greasy. The product smelt amazing, washed easily out of hair and it was a conditioner I didn’t need an additional treatment with – an absolute winner and I need a new one ASAP! Similarly a long term love of mine is the Paul Mitchell Forever Blonde Shampoo*. I’ve repurchased this a number of times and gratefully accepted a new tube from the lovely Carmen who represents the brand recently because it is such a wonderful light toning shampoo that is suitable for every day use for blonde hair. Unlike some toning shampoos it has a more subtle effect and moisturises the hair at the same time. It is a truly wonderful product for blondes !

I am yet to meet a Keune product I wasn’t obsessed with on first go. I’ve tried two of their shampoos, their Vital Nutrition Masque is quite possibly the BEST mask I’ve ever used (and I have used a LOT!) and their Argan Oil is a dream for my hair – the first one I’ve tried that doesn’t dry me out. The Keune So Purr Moisturising Conditioner* is no different. The first thing I noticed (other than the cool green packaging) is the scent – to me it smells like a beautiful vanilla candle, but I’m told it’s a mixture of Argan Oil, Ylang Ylang and Palmarosa – either way it’s almost good enough to eat! It is another of those beautiful conditioners that I don’t need to use another product after and the effect lasts three days in my hair – most products tend to lose their effect on my hair by the end of the second day post-wash so this is something special! The John Frieda Frizz Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir* is the most recent addition to my favourites but is one of the only things helping to (mildly) contain the frizz that my hair is currently suffering from in Bali! Due to chemical/illness damage I have a lot of floaty smaller strands of hair that tend to go wild in even the slightest hint of humidity and I’ve been using this every night on wet hair and whilst it hasn’t controlled the frizz completely, my hair has definitely coped ten times better than it did when I was overseas earlier in the year – it’s a winner from me!

I’m pretty blessed to be able to try so many amazing products (and some I’ve purchased myself because hey I’m a beauty addict!) and these are some of my current and all-time favourites! I know that there’s a product in here for just about everyone and their hair so I hope you enjoyed!
