Considering I’m now blogging under ‘The Black and White Guide’ I thought it was a good time to share with you some of my favourite products that come in black and white.
I love the simplicity of black and white packaging (and a sneaky bit of silver!). There’s something so understated and elegant about the black pairing with the white, something so minimalistic and understated.
Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream – technically this is cheating, because it’s black and clear with something white inside, but it still counts! This product has a lot of hype in the beauty world and it’s understandable why. It works beautifully to hydrate the undereye area. Whilst it doesn’t do anything for my dark circles (I’ve given up hope) it’s helped to hydrate my undereyes, reduce the fine lines I have hiding there and my makeup applies smoother and lasts longer. It’s expensive, but to me it’s worth the investment.
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer – another technical cheat product, but the box was black and white so it counts in my eyes. Smashbox do three of my favourite primers, and this is one of them. It’s a silicone based primer but helps to smooth and mattify my skin. It mattifies without drying my skin out, plus my makeup holds up perfectly when I’m wearing it too, which is a winner!
Mac Lipsticks – probably some of my favourite black and white packaging – the black bullet is synonymous with the class and professionalism Mac products bring about, and they do a lipstick that is so incredibly popular with everybody. Blankety (pictured) has to be one of my everyday favourites because of its creamy, hydrating finish and the fact that it makes the perfect accessory!
Chanel Blush in Rose Initial – one of my favourite shimmery pink blushes, perfect for summer. Chanel’s packaging is shiny, sleek and simple – a fully black compact with the white logo stamped in the middle, with a velvet case to protect the product inside. Even inside the compact, the accompanying blush is black with the white Chanel written on it. Everything about it screams class and elegance, a product suitable to make a woman (or man!) of any age extremely happy.
Nars Laguna Bronzer – I know I hardly shut up about this bronzer, but there’s a reason for that! It is the perfect bronzer for fair-medium skintones – for me, it gives a subtle and buildable warmth to the cheeks and the colour doesn’t fade, unlike some cheek products. Nars has to have some of my all time favourite packaging too – the epitome of classy black and white packaging.
As I said, black and white is one of my favourite types of packaging. I’ve become much more into a minimalistic style recently, and I’m beginning to make changes to reflect that. These products make me feel calmer as I use them, and are some of my most loved items!
MAC and Nars are my favourite black and white products too! I’ve always wanted to try the Smashbox primer… I might have to do that one day.
