BH Cosmetics x Shaaanxo ‘The Remix’ Palette | Swatch and Review

When BH Cosmetics announced their first Shaaanxo collaboration I fell in love with the eyeshadows immediately, but ultimately didn’t pick up the palette as I knew I’d never use the nine lipstick shades that featured on the other side. When Shannon started sharing sneak peeks and then FINALLY announced ‘The Remix’ palette with her original nine eyeshadows + nine new shades I stalked the BH Cosmetics website until it was mine ! Shipping felt like it took forever but let’s ignore that – the palette including shipping cost me roughly $36 converted which isn’t too bad. I haven’t tried BH Cosmetics products before so needless to say I was very excited !

The original nine shades – the pan sizes are slightly larger than normal which I was definitely happy about ! I love the girly pink and white packaging and am very happy to see a mirror included.

And the new nine shades ! I do actually quite enjoy that this side has a mirror too so if you’re working solely from this palette you can see what you’re doing from either side. I’m not entirely sure why they decided on two sides of nine rather than one 18 pan palette in a traditional context but it works!

The first nine shades close up! I love the variety of the neutral shades that the palette contains. I think it was a very safe (and obviously successful) shade choice and there’s definitely a similarity to the Kylie Cosmetics Bronze palette in appearance overall.

Swatches – very impressed for such a ‘cheap’ brand! One of the shades, Avocado, is a duochrome similar to Mac’s Blue Brown pigment – not really sure why it’s named avocado, but hey! The mattes swatch well and the shimmers are beautiful.

The new nine shades from this eyeshadow palette are a lot more girly and ‘fun’ shades compared to the ‘safe’ shades from the other section – a variety of pink-y purple-y shades of gorgeousness.

There’s definitely a lot more variety added to the palette with these eyeshadow shades. There’s more warmth and vibrancy added into the palette. You can easily use this side by itself or with the other side as it’s planned to be used. The shadows swatch well and the formula feels just as nice.

I’ve used this palette a handful of times and I’m still of a mixed opinion about it – I don’t think the palette is incredible quality and for something with Shannon’s name attached I expected a little more ? I guess I’m not absolutely blown away by it which I have been by say the Colourpop eyeshadow palettes. This isn’t a terrible palette by any means – the shadows blend well and last well on the lid – but I feel like the higher pigment shades dry out my lids ever so slightly. Can you tell that I just don’t know what to think? I ended up passing this palette on – I have other palettes with similar shades that I am 110% impressed with. I can’t compare with any other BH Cosmetics shadows either. I’d say this would get maybe a B rating if we were going from A+to F – it’s not crap, it’s not incredible, but it just needs a little something extra to boost it up.

Love how honest your reviews are! I am really impressed by the swatches, but I can see what you mean by some of them drying up on the lids. That pink shade and muted purple have me living though!

Interesting to hear your thoughts. Just from looking at it, I can’t say I’m blown away either. It’s fine, but I expected a little bit more variety in the shades I guess.

The packaging of the palette is very beautiful, I wish the shades and texture were better than that for this kind of collaboration. Love your pictures and swatches!

Love how honest you are in your reviews. While the shades are not exactly unique I have to say I’m loving the neutral palette’s options.
