Soooooo. It’s back to uni time, again! I go back on Monday and I can tell you I’m not looking forward to it all that much! I’ve definitely enjoyed my three and a half month break, but it’s my final year and I’m ready to work the hardest that I ever have ! I wanted to share with you my best beauty picks for back to uni – those products that’ll help you through the day and help to make you look and feel your best during the long hours of study!
Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base – one of the best moisturiser/primer hybrids I’ve tried, this keeps my skin soft all day and extends the wear of my makeup – perfect when I’m up at 6 to get to uni in time and not home until 6 that evening!
Urban Decay De-Slick Mattifying Powder – not something that works when you’re setting your foundation but instead when you’re oily during the day, this both absorbs and covers the damage that oil makes on my face – it instantly mattifies and is the best mattifying powder I’ve found to date.
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick – this liquid lipstick, in the shade Baci, is possibly the most comfortable liquid lip formula I’ve come across. Creamy when applied, it settles down to feel slightly drying, but after about ten minutes fades to feeling like nothing on the lips. It lasts relatively well throughout the day – it passes both the kiss and the drinking water test but wears off slightly when eating anything oily or creamy – it’s the perfect lip to wear at uni because you rarely have to worry about touchups!
Pixi Beauty Corrector* – something you’ve all heard about plenty from me recently, this is perfect to fake a fresh-eyed, wide awake look after a sleepless night stressing about assignments! Combined with a concealer this hides any under eye nastiness!
Tarte Shape Tape Concealer – the concealer I was referring to above, it hardly settles into fine lines at all, and covers everything that I need it to and lasts all day – I’m obsessed, and almost finished my first tube already!
Tarteist Pro To Go Eyeshadow Palette – something I recommend because of the easy to use shadows, the great and longlasting formula and how it all but blends itself, so easy to swipe one of the browns through the crease, one of the shimmers on the lid and blend in a rush, and the formula lasts all day which is what you need with long on campus days!
Carmex Lip Balm – my favourite portable lip balm formula, this is always in my pocket or handbag wherever I am, it’s easy to pop on top of a liquid lip to give your lips a bit more moisture, or to use on those ‘woke up too late/it’s no longer week one so I don’t care’ no makeup days!
Maybelline Cover Stick Concealer – for those inevitable stress/bad eating breakouts, this is my favourite full coverage concealer. I still do use a green colour corrector with this to help neutralise the redness that blemishes rear, however this is the fullest coverage and longest lasting spot concealer I’ve tried – and also the cheapest!
Ciate Wonderwand Mascara – another favourite of mine, this is great for lengthening and volumising the eyelashes and the formula lasts all day without smudging under the eyes/on the lids – I swipe a waterproof topcoat over the top and I’m good to go!
These are some of my favourite beauty bits that are going to (hopefully) get me successfully through first and second semester this year! Easy to hide any imperfections, fake a wide awake look and keep your makeup lasting through the long and stressful days!
