Benefit ‘Dallas’ Boxed Blush | Swatch and Review

Before Benefit Cosmetics were known as the ‘Queen of Brows’ they were most commonly known by their infamous Boxed Blushes. The packaging is unique to Benefit (but has since been duped by brands taking ‘influence’ from their packaging) with the product having a flip up lid and both a brush and mirror inside, making these the perfect little travel essential.

I’ve recently been trialling their boxed blush in Dallas and it is a product I was honestly not expecting to enjoy quite so much. Firstly – the packaging is adorable. The sunset and the lady riding a horse – gives me ‘Texas’ vibes from what I’ve read about Dallas before – sadly haven’t visited, but one day! It also comes with a soft, wooden handled brush that I can see being incredible for contouring. I rarely use brushes that come with product because I have my own brushes that I love but this I will try in the future.

The colour inside is unique. It is described on various websites as being “dusty rose”, a “blush and bronzer in one” and a “natural looking glow with sunkissed radiance”. I’m usually quite skeptical of products being a two-in-one but with this, it works!

The first time I wore this I used it as a blush and it just didn’t look quite right. As you can tell from the swatch above I’m quite pale and this definitely pulls as more of a bronzer on my skintone. I did a little bit more research and the second time I applied it to my cheeks as a blush lightly, but blended it back into the cheeks more where I’d apply bronzer. I worked with it for a few seconds and it gave the most perfect bronzey-glow to my cheeks that I didn’t need to add bronzer on top. This is how I find the product works best for me, and is how I would recommend those with fair skin to use it – because I will admit it is a VERY intimidating colour in the pan.

I’ve been reaching for this consistently as the weather is warming up here in Tasmania – a little bit of cream contour underneath and a light golden highlighter and it’s all I need for the most beautiful bronzed glowing look. The beauty of the Dallas boxed blush is that it can be worn like this on fair skin or could be the most beautiful natural blush for those with darker skintones and is a product I highly recommend picking up for the warmer weather!

The box is really pretty and the colour is stunning! I could see myself using this blush as an eyeshadow as well.

Isn’t it beautiful! I’ve used it as Eyeshadow a couple of times now and it is so versatile.

I love Benefit box blushes! The packaging is so cute and I can see myself wearing that as a blush all the time.
