April Favourites – 2015!

Another month is over ! I know I say this every month but it’s gone so fast! Where has the year gone?! Another busy month with university, changes to the blog and a new blogging schedule! Plus a new weekly series where I get to chat with you guys a bit more – I guess you could call that my first favourite of the month!

Here’s the beauty items I’ve been loving throughout April:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Taupe– I originally picked this up in the Blonde shade in my ShopandBox order but have since found it’s a bit too warm, it kind of looks orange on me after a few hours. I had my hair fixed this month (another favourite, bye-bye four month old regrowth!) and decided to pick up Taupe which is a bit more ashy and definitely suits me better! A little goes a loooong way with this product! I’ve been using it every day for at least two weeks and I’ve barely scratched the surface.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Number 12 Brow Brush– I picked this up from Net-A-Porter along with the Pomade and this has just been the most perfect brush for my brows! The spoolie (such a funny word) on the end is fantastic for getting brush hairs in place prior to applying product and helps distribute it evenly and look more natural afterwards. The thin brush in the end is perfect for making a sharp line but also filling it in to look natural, which is what I like!

Essence Lipliner in In The Nude– my current favourite lipliner! I can’t seem to see this anywhere to buy a backup so I am slightly nervous! It is basically my natural lip colour, I use it as a base for my lipstick as well as to occasionally overdraw my lips and I love it to death! Creamy and non-drying.
Mac Amplified Crème Lipstick in Blankety – I picked this up in Queensland in January and have only really started wearing it this month (I’m a mess, I know!) It’s quickly become one of my all time favourite lipsticks. It’s a ‘your lips but better’ shade for me and isn’t drying at all. I’ve been wearing it for about two weeks straight and my lips haven’t dried out, which is rare! It’s long lasting and incredibly pigmented and suits me when I’m at my natural pale and as well currently now I’m slightly fake tanned! 10/10 combination with the liner as well!

Real Techniques Sculpting Brush – this is technically cheating because I only received it about a week ago but I haven’t used anything else for contouring since. I’ve been contouring daily with this brush and my NYX blush in Taupe and it creates a smooth, natural contour and helps my cheekbones really stand out and look naturally sculpted! I definitely recommend picking up just the brush or the entire set , which I reviewed here.
NARS Blush in Madly – my blush looks a little worse for wear currently hence it not being opened! I picked this up because KathleenLights raves about it so I knew I needed it in my life! On my skintone it’s almost a bronzer, it’s a natural yet dark beautiful blush that can suit so many people! It doesn’t look like anything special in the pan or swatched, the magic definitely happens on the cheeks!

MAC Mineralise Skin Finish in Perfect Topping – I picked this up from their Lightness of Being collection online a few months ago and didn’t think too much of it. I didn’t get a lot of colour payoff but now that I’ve found the perfect brush I love it! It’s gorgeous for my lighter skintone and gives a reflective, non-glittery lasting highlight!
Real Techniques Fan Brush – this is the perfect brush I mentioned above! The two combined make the perfect highlight, it’s all I’ve been wearing over the last week!

My final favourite for the month is the Lady Jayne Tangleze* that I received at the start of the month thanks to winning a giveaway. I think I prefer it more than my Tangle Teezer, shock horror! The bristles are perfect and can make my hair knot free instantly. Because I have bleached hair my hair is a lot drier than usual and can get knotted and feel really dry to the touch, but a quick run through of this makes my hair feel so soft and silky, I am so impressed! This has been a staple in my handbag recently with all the wind in Hobart!

And that’s what I loved throughout the month of April! A mixture of older and newer products that I’ve fallen back in love with! Let me know what you’ve loved this month – this girl feels like shopping!

*Product was received as a giveaway prize. There was no obligation to write about it and all opinions are my own, as always.
