So you’ve seen my 2017 makeup favourites (and I’ve got it linked here in case you haven’t!) so now it’s time to take you into my bathroom to share with you my ‘general’ beauty favourites. I use this term lightly – basically it’s everything but makeup – think hair, skin and body products !
As you can see we’ve got quite a lot of products to get through! Some products represent entire brand lines – because with some brands if I listed all of my favourites from 2017 we’d be here for a loooong time ! Let’s dive in, shall we?
The top shelf! First up, I discovered Oh Deer Sugar quite a while ago now but it was 2017 where I finally purchased quite a selection of their products – and I’ve loved every one! I’m a huge fan of all of their quirky cute products and their bath bombs are my favourites from their range. Next we’ve got Schick Razors – almost every girl I know uses these babies to shave their areas – these are my favourites as there’s no more ingrown hairs for me! They give a close shave every time and I haven’t knicked myself once – which is a miracle in itself, trust me. The La-Roche Posay Effaclar Duo + needs no introduction as it’s a consistent feature in my skincare and empties posts – still loving this baby! The Paul Mitchell Forever Blonde Shampoo + Conditioner* are my favourites for my blonde hair – they give the right amount of gentle toning and moisture my locks desperately need. The It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream is a very rich, thick hydrating moisturiser that can do absolutely no wrong in my eyes and is my go-to when my skin is looking dull. Bath and Body Works Shower Gels have been my shower gel of choice this year and I’ve gone through a few! I’m currently using last year’s Merry Berry Christmas scent and it smells like a bag of lollies in my shower – which is both good and bad! GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment is another constant feature on my site – I love this for clearing out my pores and helping to get rid of any pesky blemishes – in fact I’ve got it on as I’m typing out this post! Skinstitut* is a brand that I’ve been lucky enough to try out throughout 2017 and is a brand that can do no wrong in my eyes. I’m almost out of their Glycolic Cleaner + Glycolic Scrub* which makes me incredibly sad – they’re pricey, but my skin has never looked better or had less texture since these came into my life. Another skincare brand who I’ve tried a lot of products from this year has been Neutrogena. I’m a huge fan of their Makeup Remover Wipes as I’m sure you’re all well aware by now, but this year’s favourites also include the Hydro Boost Gelee Milk Cleanser*, the Hydro Boost Sheet Mask* and the Hydro Boost Night Concentrate* – basically their entire Hydro Boost range! Lastly for this shelf we’ve got the Avene Hydrance Creme in Gel that was introduced to me this year and is my favourite moisturiser to wear on no makeup days – doesn’t work super well under makeup for me at least, but gives an amazing effect and a healthy glow to the skin all day.
On the bottom shelf we’re starting with The Body Shop’s Vanilla Chai Body Butter. I love their body butter formula and the Vanilla Chai scent I’ve used for the latter half of 2017 – and have stocked up for 2018! The Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Cucumber and Green Tea is my favourite facial spray of 2017 – I absolutely love the scent and feel of this spray and believe it makes a difference in the hydration and health of my skin. Olaplex Step 3 Treatment has been an at-home treatment that’s helped to get my hair into better condition throughout 2017. Another face mask I’ve loved is the L’Oreal Pure Clay Mattifying Mask for those times pre-makeup where my nose is struggling with excess oil. The Cedel Blow Dry Faster Heat Protector Spray is a life-saver for someone such as myself who has a LOT of hair – this really does cut my blow-dry time in at least half whilst also helping to protect it from heat damage – I rarely blow dry my hair but this is an absolute necessity when I do. The Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion has been my favourite daily moisturiser for 2017 – it is absolutely beautiful to use on the skin pre-makeup – it’s lightweight, sinks in quickly and is scent-free and perfect for basically any skin type! The Body Shop’s Early Harvest Raspberry Body Scrub is another favourite of mine – the scrub is accentuated by raspberry seeds and gives a gentle yet thorough exfoliation to the skin – and smells delicious! Lastly we end my favourites of 2017 by talking about Keune Haircare*. Keune is another brand I’ve been so blessed to try out throughout 2017 and there is not a single product that hasn’t impressed me from first use. Their hair masks are incredibly hydrating and life-giving to the hair, their exfoliating treatment works extremely well (and is SO fun to use) and their serums I pair with non-Keune products to make sure my hair is at its best. I haven’t been so impressed by a haircare brand ever – there’s always at least one item I don’t like from a brand – but I’ve tried at least 5 items from the brand this past year and have loved every single one!
I’d love to know what you’ve tested and enjoyed in 2017!
