Neutrogena Hydro Boost Mask – Review!

Give me a face mask and I’m happy. Give me sheet masks and I’m happier than a pig in mud. Why? I don’t really know, but there’s something about a white sheet mask on my face that makes me feel like a whole different person. (Or if you’re on my Snapchat, you’d know I had a comedic moment over the weekend where I said it was me without bronzer!)

The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Masks* are something I’ve been lusting after since I saw them featured on a few YouTube videos from American YouTubers, and I was ecstatic to find out they were being released in Australia! When I received this box in the mail I may have cackled from pure excitement.

I have fairly dry skin, so anything moisturising I lean towards, and this is no difference. This box of 5 face masks retails for $19.99 and will be increasingly available from Chemist Warehouse, Priceline stores and any other stockists of Neutrogena products in Australia. Neutrogena is one of those brands that often does go on sale if you don’t want to pay full price, but I personally think that approximately $3.40 per mask is a great price to pay!

The instructions for the mask are simple – cleanse skin and dry it, then open and unfold the mask and press it to your face for at least 15 minutes. I find that the size of the mask is great, it’s the perfect size for my face whereas some I find that my eyes aren’t in the right spot for the eye holes! It feels incredibly cooling and refreshing on the skin. I tend to leave it on for 15-20 minutes, I tend to forget when I put the mask on and just relax and watch a YouTube video and take it off once I’m done. Afterwards I find there’s a bit of residue left over, but I just massage that into my skin and let it sink in naturally. I tend to leave my skin afterwards and only add eye cream, skipping toner, serum etc. and head to bed – I find it best to do cloth masks right before bed, but that’s just me.

Now I’m sure you’ve all heard of the expression “skin as smooth as a baby’s bottom”? Well that’s the only way I can describe how my skin feels the next morning after use. My skin is so smooth to the touch, my makeup glides on so much smoother and everything just looks better! Straight after use I could notice my skin seemed to have a glow about it, but the results overnight were fantastic!

This is one of those products that I used once and knew that I had to spread the word about straight away. It’s rare that you come across a product you love after once use, but this is one of them! I’ve now used this mask twice, and still have identical results. For girls with dry skin, I’d say once a fortnight should be enough for a treatment, or once a week if you have super dry skin! I gave one of these to a friend who has sensitive skin and she didn’t have any problems! This is a product, in fact a range of products, that I’d recommend to any skin type – I have friends with oily skin, normal skin, combination skin and then there’s myself with dry skin who all love different products from the Neutrogena Hydro Boost range.

These masks are phenomenal, and I’ve noticed them only last week new on the shelf at my local Priceline store, so if you see them I definitely recommend picking them up, they’re worth the investment and your skin will thank you for it!

Haha definitely an understatement ! I’ve repurchased the hydro gel probably 3 times now! It smells so nice and is so light on my skin! You’ll love it just as much, I doubt it’s possible to love it more ! Let me know how it goes too, I’d be interested to know how you like it with oily skin! xx
